Play Classic or a private server. Turtle WoW is popular and Epoch is looking to be similar, and is launching this month. Retail is not an MMO, nor is it even a very good game anymore. I'd generally recommend a private server over Classic just to give Blizzard less money, but subscribing for a month lets you test out both Classic and Retail if you care enough to try both.

People still play MMOs? Who even has the time for it, the sunk cost fallacy must be astronomical.
