Dark Souls 3 returned to large dungeons with lots of interwoven shortcuts and vertical paths, which was a much needed change of level design after Dark Souls 2 and the endless stream of Demon Ruins tier corridors ala Shrine of Amana, Eleum Loyce, Aldia's Keep, Dragon Shrine, Crypt and Hunstman Corpse
