I've seen a lot of posts like this but I don't really know what people were expecting. Anons kept talking up ASM and then for most people it was a succession of long night time low energy runs.
I thought it was a pretty solid event BUT the expectation that people would know ahead of time that it was an event organised by JRPG speedrunners is just asinine. I've been watching speedrun events for years and I barely know who any of these people are, let alone the seemingly endless gossip that surrounds a bunch of runners. But now I'm complaining about the people complaining about the people complaining during an event that's over so I digress.
IMO ASM managed to be good during sleepy time hours, even the Pokemon run managed to be enjoyable. There were a few dull runs but it's the night shift so whatever. I feel like the bigger problem with JRPG runs is that if they aren't good then you are stuck for 4 to 8 hours (like basically every Pokemon GDQ run).
Also dogwater actually lived up to the HOIPE

For me it's been the Cities Skylines - Natural Disasters scenarios. They are unnecessarily long, but don't actually require much effort, so I've been trying to wrap them up.
