I know how gay and weak this sounds, but I hope somebody mods the Steel Soul exclusive stuff to appear in the base game. I hate when devs lock content behind cock and ball torture difficulty modes, the reward for going through that dumb waste of time shit should be the experience itself plus whatever achievement you get as a dickhat. Every time I consider playing through Underrail on Dominating! just so I can see one of the two optional bossfights it has I don't even bother, because I know at the end of the day it won't be worth it.

I would say exploration is the most gripe I have with act 3 because there is not much to explore. Coral Tower is just gauntlet, area near grand lift is just parkour and boss leading to another boss, new area in far fields is too small for my tastes. The only two area I have enjoyed exploring are Abyss and Verdana.
Also bosses are hit or miss, the only ones I liked so far are Tormented Trobbio and Clover Dancers
FYI I still haven't given hearts to snails because I want to do all the optional stuff I can.
