if its any consolation, the game is very much the cover art in a lot of ways. its a pretty cool world for a metroid-like, ive played most of the genre and this is one of my favorites
The graphics actually felt jarring at first but they grew into me and now i think its pretty
The soundtrack definitely helps

I like collecting images of the full 100% detailed map of the games stitched together
Unfortunately nobody on the internet thus far made a nice enough complete and high quality image of the later that doesnt have a huge file size

I played almost the whole genre, HK is my favorite. Its bosses, world and exploration are the best in the genre
ESA is second place because of the cool secret hunt overarching across all of the surprisingly competent game with a cool world
