How come there's not yet a proper realistic crafting system in videogames?

Like you need to gather the raw elements, gather the disolvents, turn up the furnace or fermentator, have to check the PH of the liquids, have to gauge the proper temperature and pressure, and basically manage the process of fermentation to obtain the newer chemicals you need to mold into potions, food, brews and soaps, perfumes and other magical shit.
