I don't think lefties or righties realize how much this is going to bite the entire political dichotomy in the ass.
The first candidate from either party who begins regulating these companies to ensure everyone gets fair access to social media wins.
Full-stop. The first person who says "Companies aren't people and you exist to serve our citizens, there is no arguing this, conform or being broken up like AT&T" and starts slapping them with fines until they relent on this race to a technocracy will simply absorb every single voter under the age of 40 and will create a voting bloc that makes MAGA seem quaint and rational.
I really would hope at least people on the neo-con branch of the left and the right would realize how intensely this is going to annihilate their ability to propagandize about the nation of Israel to the fighting-age portion of their population if everyone below the age of 20 isn't allowed to use any social media at all, and would immediately move to sanction these companies.
On the other hand, it's impossible to tell if this isn't also some kind of long neocon play to flip the script on the disruptive technology of the internet and introduce a more controlled, easily censored version of it which becomes what all fighting-aged males use to communicate how much they love conservatism and joining the Army. Which seems like a futile, hairbrained endeavor fitting only for the neocons of our broken societies.
