I've thought about it so much that I even made small scenes in my head akin to when characters in DMC5 call for Niko. Usually with Shadow calling for Tails to show up in an extremely hard to get place, waiting and doubting that he'll show up and then Tails appearing in a manner he wasn't expecting.
An example would be;
>Shadow is in an underwater Eggman base and gets ahold of Tails on transmission.
>Tails tells him he's already triangulated his position and to sit tight.
>Shadow scoffs and waits a moment trying to figure out how Tails is going to fly a plane underwater.
>Suddenly the wall behind him collapses as Tails just drilled through a few feet of steel with his submarine.
>Shadow, shocked, asks where Tails got a submarine.
>Tails calmly informs him he built the Sea Fox years ago.
