The way I see it, is because is practically a meaningless term. In the context of Sonic Rush, Cream described Sonic as "the wind", and with the context of Black Knight, it means "he is as free as the wind". However, many members of the community jumped to this jargon to suggest an interpretation of Sonic is the only one valid, which is nonsense.

I am so confused right now. It seems that there are fans of IDW here in the thread who have problems with "The wind" (Apparently in reference to Sonic's personality from the Sonic the Hedgehog Videogame series)
That is a bag of worms that speaks negatively on IDW but I won't get into that.
They are also complaining about people named "Slashy" and "Randomfox" as if these are the only two people who have a problem with IDW's departures from canon. As if it's abnormal to get annoyed that I can't find Sonic characters in a Sonic comic.

Eyelid Theory:
Sonic and Amy had eyelids the same color as their muzzle, generally, up until the early 2000's. It was changed to fur color (matching Tails, Knuckles and Shadow) in Sonic Adventure DX (not Sonic Adventure 2 Battle) and then carried over permanently in Sonic Battle and Sonic Heroes. HOWEVER, there's actually an even EARLIER instance of this.

Not counting a few early off-model illustrations, THAT is where the colored eyelids actually come from.
Theory: Sonic X is the reason for this. In practice, making the eyelids fur-colored led to less animation errors. This idea was carried over to the games shortly afterward for brand unification.
And if you ask me, THIS is where the Classic/Modern divide ACTUALLY happened.
It surprises me that Cream was the exception until recently, but that's another story.

Setting is Chun-nan experiencing a Time Bubble due to the actions of the ancient emperor of Chun-nan returning to restore his realm. The Sonic cast are on vacation there to Chun-nan for Vanilla's birthday and stumble into an exciting adventure. The main cast members present are Sonic, Cream, Knuckles, Amy, Tails, Vanilla, and Silver. The past, present, and future of Chun-nan will be explored. Heavily inspired by Chinese history. I am an armchair historian on Chinese history, especially late Qing and Warlord Era, so I'm hoping to apply that to the fantastical setting. Already I've improved upon AAR's script by adding subtle cultural references that help flesh out the world and educate the reader on Eastern Culture.

Slashy writes plot outlines for stories he wants, and then leaves it at that.
This outline will only go through the main events in a comic book.
For example,

What events, what happens, why is it happening, what character interactions, all these questions go unanswered, because Slashy will not even try to write.
The only other thing he is known for is paying other people to write for him, but they won't even do that.
Stone Warriors and Blue Moon is unfinished, Deadly Ball is clearly still in first draft not a commentary on it's quality, but formatting issues with how the dialogue is written and sometimes the descriptions are unfinished or actually in the dialogue box instead

Well, I kinda been doing that. I wrote short, one-shot stories with my characters, even created new filler antagonists. I had fun with those, and it helped me better imagine them and their personalities, rather than going for the original grander than life idea.

Speaking from personal experience, as long as you like reading, writing is the one easiest to try and get into
Plan stuff, see what works, see what doesn't, no-one's going to complain for someone having a go and no-one's telling you that you can't try again if it doesn't come across well the first time.
Writing shouldn't have to feel like putting your best work out there on attempt 1 and it shouldn't feel like your whole idea is shit because attempt 1 couldn't possibly convey it as well as you want it to.
Start small, get bigger later. Do quick what you might be able to perfect after.
