Same thing happened with MGSV, it's an "auteur vs moneybags" sort of conflict. In both cases the auteur left or was chased out while the product was quickly wrapped up and pushed out in a state that fails to meet expectations.
While auteurs can be difficult hacks to work with, chasing out all your talent is not a good move. But Capcom may be broadly moving to cheaply outsource all its IPs while minimizing inhouse development, just like Konami.
There's a non-zero possibility that the decision to outsource is actually what necessitates the need to collapse inhouse development while what we (and the shareholders) see is an underperforming problematic developer being shitcanned. Just as keikaku.
