Most thermal paste is not electrically conductive.
As long as you don't got full-ham, there's no harm in getting it on the pins or socket...

As far as replacing thermal paste, as long as it doesn't need to 'set,' ie. warming it up as high as you can to induce a molecular change, it shouldn't dry out, albeit I acknowledge there are exceptions.

I 'revived' a motherboard + CPU I thought was dead, but one of the RAM dimm's doesn't work.

What's the most effective way to stress test. I'm no opposed to purchasing software if it's a worthwhile investment.
