it's FOMO tactics of the highest caliber
truly evil
reminds me of this scene from Squid Game

they sort-of did that with the $360 D&D set, where they sold the figures separately for $5 each, when, for $360, they should have ALL been included in the one big set. (but in that case, we got to get a few figures, if we wanted, for only $5, without buying the big set. which, in the end, was much better)

I'm still offended by Lego starting Zelda with slap-in-face $300 tree. now they try again with probably $150 set. stop it Lego. stop. enough already with the multi-hundreds-dollars-sets. argh. it's exhausting.

be happy we get it at all? no.

it's a sanctioned mugging.
b-but I want a Lego Minifig of Link & Zelda...
[mobster voice] okay, but you gotta PAY for it

I'm so mad with Lego's downward spiral into multi-hundred-dollar sets

blah-blah "piece count" blah-blah "value for the money" blah-blah "but... new molds!" Aaaaargh!

I would much rather buy a $50 set each month, and -eventually- wind up with the Star Trek bridge crew. maybe a couple extra Picards and Datas, Troi in a couple outfits. That cool Romulan guy or whatever. "Shaka when the walls fell" guy was in a small set!

nope. your ONLY option is to buy it all at once for FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS. suck it. oh, and you better wake up early and stand in line on release day, if you want the shuttle pod with Ro Laren, because that's the only way you'll get it. while supplies last.

sooooo mad. It's like, I'm glad Lego made a Star Trek set finally, but you have to stand there and let them slap you in the face for it.
