Do we really need to speculate on how it would work? That was pretty much every movie up through the mid 90's and it worked just fine. And if they want to argue that no longer works for modern audiences I would ask them how their current approach is working

Because he's been a good GM and built an excellent roster that's consistently competitive. He hasn't really made a ton of mistakes, it's just that the one he did make was a really memorable one.

But the frustrating part is him being competent makes the Lance pick even more baffling. Like, if some guy who consistently fucks up fucks up you just chalk it up to the fact that they never knew what they were doing. Lynch has proven that he *does* know what he's doing and then just went full retard this one time for no apparent reason. It almost makes me suspect this was an onwership thing

There were maybe like a few thousand people in the entire US who knew who this guy was. Brits seethe at this fact but it's just irrefutably true. The guy is a literal nobody outside the UK.

And most musical biopics tend to tank anyway which makes it even more perplexing of a decision. Bob Dylan is an actual recognizable name and they got a semi-popular actor to play him in the recent film and absolutely no one gave a shit. The only times it's ever worked was Walk the Line and Bohemian Rhapsody. Not sure why they thought Robbie Fucking Williams was going to buck the trend. If people didn't show for the Elton John biopic why would they show up for this?

>You shouldn't level up in Final Fantasy VIII

I tell people not to level up but I don't mean "stay at level 3 the entire game and never gain exp." I just mean not to bother leveling up as a specific goal. Grinding for levels isn't really harmful but it's kind of pointless and unnecessary. If you're overleveled but your junctions suck you're still going to be fucked and if your junctions are good you don't need to be overleveled.

It bothers me that VIII eliminated the need for grinding entirely and people still did it anyway
