i am trying to intergrate my airbrush more into my hobbying and not just for priming or basecoating and varnishing.

Pic rel was my last word bearer and I'm working on the rest of the squad. I want to use my airbrush to basecoat and highlight all of the red parts. I will see if it's faster than spraying it all metallic and hand painting the red parts. Pic rel is my usual method and I like how the shade adds contrast and definition.

Does anyone paint infantry like this? Do you just up the brightness of the paint and spray from a higher angle as you build highlights?

these guys exist to die. they're khorne chaff akin to clanrats and stabbas. they have shit armor saves and damage but they're cheap. It's just not time efficient or worth it to freehand any tattoos.

I also tend to equate Khorne with ritual scarification and horn/spike mutations rather than tattoos or writing

also a random word bearer with a flamer. the rest of his box isnt even primed. been painting lots of 40k lately as opposed to my usual fantasy stuff. the freehand is really fun but I think for the text I'm going to do it in contained blocks instead of random scibbles wherever they fit
