>millions of cars are created every year
>a few of those are shipped incomplete, which will -if you're lucky- simply break down in the middle of driving it, but some may not even have airbags
>OMG WHO CARES?! WE HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF CARS TO BUY SO IT'S OKAY FOR COMPANIES TO SELL UNREGULATED VEHICLES THAT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL!
Anon, I hope this post of yours was just a bait. Otherwise I fear for your mental health.

A friendly reminder for everyone who thinks this isn't real in other industries, new Ford trucks literally can't start if you don't upgrade your software.
This is the future that corporations want.

That's fair, I should have written "FIRST EVER console purchase". My bad I guess, I hope it makes more sense now.

I'm not sure it's entirely accurate because what you said can be accredited to every car to ever exist and some people may think buying a game online may be the same as buying a physical game.
A better analogy -in my humble opinion- would be that a car dealership tells customers that if you don't upgrade the OS in your car, you may not be able to drive it.
Pic related.

Probably? Sure. It would be extremely rare, but definitely not out of the question right? Furthermore, the more games are sold online, the greater the odds that someone doesn't buy physical with their first console purchase and they just don't know the difference.
