The slot may be cheaper, but the cards themselves absolutely not. Hell the main reason everyone’s doing the game key cards is because they’re expensive as hell and the devs would be losing money with physical sales if they used them. They won’t outright kill it, but they’ll make it incredibly unfeasible to use so they can go “see, digital only is the only way forward.” Just a matter of time before it’s the new norm. Nintendo has never, in their entire video game history, encouraged their consumers to take it upon themselves to bust open their products and mess with the hardware and software.
