>>713808973It is outright wrong on multiple points and brings up things that aren't even a realistic point to worry about.
>new first party releases may shift towards subscription first accessReally where? the only reason you had to have a sub and have played games to access Nintendo's own stores Switch sales was to combat scalping, it was still made available for all other standard avenues of purchase without this requirement.
>hardware specs and feature support not fully disclosed at launchBut they were, Nintendo released a sheet detailing clocks and sms and other fine details before launch
>nintendo has confirmed that switch 2 will support switch 1 games but there's no guarantee how long this will lastWhat an absolute stretch, why would anyone assume that it has a time limit? it's literally a feature built into the systems OS why would Nintendo just arbitrarily disable it.
>long term software support remains vagueOnly finer details but you're an idiot if you think Nintendo will just drop this outright in a year or two, there are Switch 1 games coming in it's 9th year.
>will you have access to your favourite games 10 years from nowYou still have access to your Switch library 8 years after release, in fact Nintendo have consolidated your digital library and their online store, you can still buy Switch 1 games on your Switch 2, there's no reason to think that your Switch 2 library will magically vanish in 10 years, you can guarantee that Switch 3 will support your whole Switch 2 library out of the box and most likely your whole Switch library, but even if that isn't the case by then basically everything on Switch 1 will have a Switch 2 version anyway.
>you don't own your gamesWhat, you own them more than any other platform though, your physical games will not just stop working because NIntendo decides they do, they work regardless, your Switch/2 digital library is as secure as any other digital library, which on other platforms is the only form of ownership.
