How come Latin countries, who had the biggest influence from Latin (a language with 5 cases) all dropped the cases in their modern languages? What's the reason behind it

That's really cool. So Swedish is like germanic language without cases, and Bulgarian a Slavic language without cases. Does this mean they're easy to learn? I might give them a try on duolinguo.
