In his defense, he corrected himself and revised a stronger argument. He pointed out that while, yes, you shouldn't autobattle in EO as a general thing, you tend to spam the same skill loops and combos over and over again. Which is barely better than autobattling, when you think about it. It's arguably worse, as it's just as braindead while forcing you to sift through more menus.

Shit, remember the feather? How the only way to upgrade them was from stuff you could only obtain from gacha or event from the store?

Shit, I remember selling and using all my wealth to try to upgrade my weapon to +15 before quitting the game.
I started +12
After 70+ tries and 0 money left I ended up +10

Keep in mind that to get enchant stones, you needed to destroy a powerful weapon, so to get the higher level ones you needed to break stuff on par with your own gear.

i guess my loge for Roguelikes influenced my taste

its normal for me to spend dozens hours in a roguelike before you can beat it, i enjoy the grind and meta progression

i guess if you are like me and enjoy Roguelikes, you will have a good time, but if you dont, it might be less appealing

the other recommendations are more traditional Metroidvanias, except Steamworld Dig, that one is a little bit weird too, and the 3D ones i suppose
