I've only played the first 2 Ace Attorney games in that trilogy and they were both excellent. Yes, they both had... some parts in certain cases that dragged on a bit, and sometimes the way they expect you to present evidence feels counterintuitive because you might be 2 steps ahead of what the game wants you to do, but overall I strongly recommend them, very funny and interesting games.

you can dop az number of things and tactics to take down the convoys. its one of these game where you need a certain IQ to squeeze more fun out of it. if youre the kind to use the most basic shit for everything to close as fast as possible or spam overpowered moves in games instead of not using them then yeah you ll just blast evrything with the spears or gas tanks and there is no gameplay

Any open world I can think of would be worse off with this addition. The writing and characters are often just not interesting, nor the mission design for these side pieces of content.

I've only played the Hollow ones (Fragment and Realization), but they are alright if you want:

Combat-wise, Hollow is a bit closer to a MMO (sort of) than Realization is a bit closer to an action game, but you will be spamming buffs and attack skills in both of them.
All the bad things about the anime don't mean much in the games because the games are set in an alternative timeline (until Fatal Bullet, at least). And it's not like it matters, you will spend 90% of the time killing MMO mobs and cheating on your wife.
Can't say much about the rest of the games, people say Lost Song is gay, Fatal Bullet is good if you prefer guns over swords, and apparently Alice is not even a JRPG.

I want to play Death Stranding but I already have the base game for free on Epic. I feel dumb paying for a Director's Cut of a game I already have, is it worth paying for the upgrade?

Is Talos Principle worth playing if I want a puzzle game with a bit more "substance" like Portal 1 and 2? I like puzzles and admittedly Portal is easy but I'm a storyfag and part of why I like them so much was story, setting, characters, etc. Pure puzzle games like Portal Reloaded were cool but without a story to anchor them I wasn't very invested.

i used to think that, then i discovered you can fire notes on a corner then spam spin kick on em to create an AoE of death, the notes also block projectiles, which is super useful in certain rooms and challenges

also some rooms allow you to change weapons anyways so its a moot point

Death Stranding is kind of a divisive game. Some people really like it, others don't like it at all. I'd probably play the base game first, and if you REALLY like it, upgrade to the Director's Cut for your second playthrough.
Unrelated, but Killer7 isn't all that great IMO. The story is complete nonsense, the controls are trash, gameplay ranges from "meh" to decent. But that's just me.

Its not cinematic like Portal but its actually better written and cool as shit. The puzzles aren't hard. I'd argue they're more challenging than Portal, but a bit more tedious at some parts. The game especially delights in misleading you, trying to naturally lead you down a path that requires many steps that go nowhere when a puzzle can be solved in 2 seconds... So its encouraging you to actually think instead of autopilot a fair bit. It feels like many rooms are purposely designed to make you feel stupid and humbled, which is appropriate given the overarching narrative.

I watched my friend play it for a bit and I liked how "weird" it looked and its visual style but it also looked frustrating to play. Still not sure on it.

Incredibly well balanced and actually good gameplay. The procedural generation aspect is to prevent memorization, not function as a slot machine, which is at the heart of what "rogue" is supposed to be. Lifting this onto a shooter just makes it more like an arcade game, and unlike gungeon, which is slow as molasses and boring, its fun to aim for as many loops as possible. I've never had a boring game of Nuclear Throne.

Nuclear Throne is just raw chaos in the best way possible. Every run you’re juggling ammo scarcity, enemy patterns, and dumb luck, all while sprinting around at a million miles per hour trying not to explode. Gungeon is slick and polished but it gets bogged down with bloat-too many guns, too much waiting around, and rolls that feel like homework. Throne hits faster, harder, and actually respects your time. Plus those music tracks slap.

I'm not really into 3d open world games, but they usually limit where you can go by main or side quest state (IE city gate or cave is closed and there is no way to enter, or the other way around, cave only opens up later after an event blows up a hole on it) or ocean, requiring a boat, which may not be readily available in a specific game. Never played System Shock specifically, so I can't judge the statement, but I'd point out to Rabi-ribi as far as high level of freedom goes, a game in which you can beat it skipping all mobility upgrades, using only "unexplained" movement tech that is readily available from the start of the game.
