On 1.0 and up to 1.3 at least, we actually had more than the other two back when they released. Mainly in commissions and hollow zero, but then they killed off hollow zero lore, stopped making commissions for 4 whole patches (and the ones we got now on 2.0 are heavily neutered), and on top of that they literally have no idea where they're going with the main story and have admitted as much.

The way it was presented I assumed if it wasn't outright revealed, it would be a background detail, either something you can see on the interknot menu or maybe even in some overworld flavor text, but as far as I can tell it's just never mentioned or referenced again anywhere.
