It was a poem of an old monk praying to a tree, he was plagued by visions of a great dying in the far future and asks the tree to give wisdom into the future.
it rhymes hither and thro about brothers fighting, england disappearing underneath the waves, of a city with the tower of steel (paris) set alight by its own people, the viennian square being so void of life that dill grows on it.
but after a third of the world died, something emerges from its rubble. peaceful people and that this peace will last very long.
that people who get to see this time will be happier like no generation has for several hundred years.
it's a poem that's near and dear to me.
