God allows them to have what they want as nonbelievers so that they can ultimately break and come to the realization they do truly need God in order to be whole or pulled from whatever stinking cesspit they managed to dig themselves into by constantly following their own whims and wants.

It might take a long while until they eventually come to it, but that's sort of the point. Their life will just have to keep on getting worse and worse to the point they can't do anything in their own power anymore and have to either cry out to God to help, or end up dying and going straight to Hell.
