I think it's because global society collectively died with the internet and christianity was the first casualty, christianity was probably at its strongest in the late 60s right around time internet was being designed. 911 was just the big moment where society was finished integrating in one melting pot. We are all going home to native cultures and goth is some europe culture outside cultures can't into, also westerners being first exposed to the internet. The internet and tech is all fake feeling now cause the tech oligarchs that took over the internet have been trying to force some forced christian nationalism mask over decaying globalism and they are using AI/algorithms to go about it. My guess is goth culture will never be adopted by outside groups hip hop will never have another eminem non east asian people into weaboo stuff will be mocked more. Christianity will probably move along for another hundred years or so surviving off africa until they go back to voodoo I guess.
