Not that crab, but he's right though. Gamedev won't fix your life, and it's not something you should be even considering if you don't already have your life together in the first place. Go to >>>/adv/ for that, not here.

It's very difficult to figure out what exactly makes a game succeed and what makes one flop. If you ask 10 different yesdevs here, you'll probably get 10 different answers. Why do you think we end up having those debates here all the time? Many active yesdevs are simply making a game without thinking deeply enough about what paying customers are asking for, and they'll end up wasting years of their life on a project that is doomed to flop from the get go.

Btw, I didn't start out this way. /agdg/ turned me into this kind of person. I've wasted countless hours providing free technical tutoring to so many of you. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. So few devs here actually has a vision or basic design sense. It's just painful to watch. Without a vision, you're not cut out for being a solo indie developer. If you want to stay in gamedev, you'd be way better off working under someone who does.

I don't hate it. I simply understand that it's not something that gamers want to play. I think the developer sunk cost himself into a NGMI project, and other developers here should learn from his mistake.
