IN GERMANY the employer pays half of your social security (healthcare/pensions/etc.) contribution, which sounds nice, except it's not counted towards your gross income or taxes on your payslip, which leads to incomes and taxes usually being recorded and perceived as 15-20% lower than they effectively are.
For example, if your payslip says you earned 4,5k in the month and paid 1,5k in taxes and contributions, you actually cost your employer 5,5k and paid 2,5k in taxes.

Saying "leave him/her/me alone" or "don't say that" or an equivalent phrase in Central/Eastern European cultures is like a magic word. Those people actually stop if you tell them to.

In anglophone countries, saying "leave me alone" immediately invites teasing and bullying, and a mediator will actually have to get in between people who are fighting and physically restrain them in order to stop them, and "de-escalation" is a skill on its own.

It's such a little difference that no one talks about. Maybe they didn't even notice.
