Gender nonsense has been a part of psychology for a while. You could focus on Dr. John Money as the progenitor of modern trannyism (though it'd be a bit inaccurate).

Autogynophilia (AGP) is a paraphilia where a man gets aroused from imagining himself as a woman. It seems completely gay at first but it's actually a deeply narcissistic heterosexual fetish where a man is into women but is completely focused on himself. He's thinking of boobs and pussy but it's hotter when he imagines himself, so he creates a female avatar. As it progresses the AGP will create a female image of himself that he'll go back to.
AGPs are just perverts though, they're not necessarily crazy.
Men have been ruthlessly degraded in recent years. A lot of us had no decent role models because of broken homes or missing fathers. Media makes men stupid or cunts while women are capable and virtuous. These men likely have a really negative view of themselves.
Sad men don't have to become trannies though.
It's all three that make trannies. Take the perversion and narcissism of the AGP, the desperation of the broken man and the ideology of academia. Then add the Chemical X of autism and you have a tranny.
