Gachas that try to sell its stories (lol lmao) should focus on trying to tell its stories before how much the characters are sucking your dick.
The former games usually do its job better than the latter because gacha stories are a joke but they latter is often more successful than the former.
There are games that can pull off both (You) pandering and great stories but they are incredibly rare and what is considered a "good story" is different depending on who you ask.
