Did New Donk City decide to switch from LCD screen displays to posters lit by lamps?

Why was Super Mario Odyssey, the big mainline 3D Mario game, so focused on Mario and Pauline?
It wasn't like Super Mario Odyssey released during the Super Mario Bros. 30th Anniversary, or Donkey Kong Arcade's 35th Anniversary.
And why was Pauline singing love songs about how she loves Mario, in the same game where Mario doesn't marry Peach?
Why does New Donk City look more modern in Donkey Kong Bananza than it does in Super Mario Odyssey?
Why does Bananza Pauline talk about her grandma?
Why does Bananza Pauline jump and make noises like Mario?

I think it is Odyssey 2.
It clearly takes place after Odyssey.

Did you guys know that the billboards in New Donk City now look more modern?
They are now LCD displays.
I think Donkey Kong Bananza takes place 13 years after Super Mario Odyssey.
