The song is about an idol (singer) who had a friend who was also an idol rising in the ranks at the same time. The friend died suddenly and the idol was so in shock that she nearly quit the business, but she concluded that if she did it would be a waste of all the work she AND her friend had done to get to that point. So she decided she would still keep going (rolling) and working to be a better idol (star), even though she misses her friend dearly (lonely).
