the thing is, and its proveable, that UE5 is actually fine. the problem is they are hiring dumb monkeys to build games who are throwing higher count polygon models into the engine and going "uhhh why is the raytracing not working". one guy even took the example files Epic provides and shows how they are just wasting space and resources on nonsense.
Like with everything UE5 is a tool and if you dont know how to use it properly you are going to get dogshit bad results. also Mafia doesnt look impressive at all which means they really fucked up.
games are hard to make, and when you hire indians to do most of the work to get it across the finish line by checking off the next JIRA ticket with a full hard on for AGILE methodology you get dogshit like this. meanwhile some smelly troon indie dev has a UE5 project built by themselves in alone in a room with nothing else that runs amazing.
