It was just bad writing by the author who cannot write characters realistically. The best example is Yoru forgetting about SHITji in 15 seconds. Even if it makes sense to us who're not cucked coping Dencels, thousands of coomer idiots keep saying

While it's fun to call those retards cuckolds on copium, which they are, it doesn't change the fact their reasoning is rooted in the low quality and nonsensical nature that is the character's writing. Even when Asa goes and says

even then the writing will still be shit, because a girl doing a 180 when convenience hits doesn't in any form justify the abomination that the writing was prior to that. The characters cannot be taken seriously nor are they relatable.
In short, what you call frustrating is not Asa's "devotion", because that's as fickle as the wind, but the abominable writing by an incompetent writer.
