Russians are unironically very terrible at warfare. Their entire history is one military humiliation after another. Russia has fought 239 wars in its history, 72% of these have been defeats and of their victories 80% involved them being allied with a greater power. Even in cases where they "win" or should be able to dominate quite handedly, such as against Finland or now Ukraine, it turns into a clusterfuck where they're reduced to spamming conscript human wave attacks.
It's ironic because seeming menacing/strong is all Russia has now. Their economy is smaller than Spain, they have a negative birth rate, they're taking in millions of central asian migrants a year, and are overrun by AIDS, drugs, and STDs
