A gantz mobile game that doesn't let the player play whenever he wants to simulate being forcefully called up by gantz. I would choose a life background for my character and at any time of the day, if i looked at my phone, i would see my character sitting on a bench or working as a clerk. But once a day i would receive a notification urging me to play one mission.
There would be no cash shop, i'm making a real videogame experience here. Something that pushes the medium in a new direction.
Phone IDs would be tied to the characters and Gantzers could meat in real life or avoid each other in the streets.

Wait hold the fuck up, after the spoilers Rocks potentially just being BB makes a bit more sense
If Rocks knows Davy Jones/joyboy is that why he was always hyping Luffy up?
Maybe this and Imu is how the ope ope finally comes into play.

ACTUALLY HOL UP
Do we know if Brooks fruit is actually still "held" by brook or since he technically died, was the fruit out in the wild?
Because otherwise it would probably be one of the rarest fruits, almost impossible to find, and if it does pop up again then this enables Rocks to die and then still come back even without Ope Ope.

What i'd so is throw the whole story out the window, throw the characters out, throw the RPG elements out, the sidequests out and make the game about archeology. We'd venture out into the wilds and pilfer ancient hard drives, usb sticks, and connect to hidden terminals to siphon mundane data about the old world: patent blueprints, wikipedia articles, excerpts from random forum threads and private conversations, news articles, application config files. I think that would be more interesting loot than crafting materials.
Of course the dangerous robots are lurking everywhere. They don't need fancy justifications about a rogue AI and a group of scientists doing drama in the past or aliens coming to reclaim the earth. Acquire knowledge for the village / The eco-robots will attack: End of story. Really.
A sort of high production 3D openworld dungeon crawler with the dungeon being whichever part of the map the player hasn't been to yet.

In the interest of ludonarrative resonance, i say if the game is about cleaning out the map then make the gameplay about about cleaning out the map as well. And then the game ends nothing wrong with that if the fun was had.
