People saying RARE didn't matter are Nintendo fanboy copers. DKC mogged Nintendo on the SNES and Goldeneye sold on merit to a tune of 8 million copies, unlike Nintendo's shockingly bad dreck like Yoshi's Story which failed to chart.

They were a lifeline in the absolutely pitiful third and first party support the N64 received. Anybody trying to say otherwise is rewriting history and mad that Nintendo screwed the pooch but don't want to admit it.
