I realized I had never finished Kingmaker after finishing Wrath of the Righteous. I forgot how many absolutely horseshit encounters Kingmaker throws at you.

Who thought that this was a good design choice? I was getting my ass kicked until I made a custom companion with grease and every enemy has been a cakewalk since then

Why is it so much harder than wotr? It's impossible for me to do literally anything and every mob oneshots me. Isn't it supposed to have lower stakes than wotr but for some reason demon lords are much easier to kill than some random rat

Its primarily American problem due to astronomical costs of keeping people on retainer in California or some other hilariously expensive place

Compare that to European and Asian studios that are expanding and going into bigger and bigger projects incrementally (ie. Owlcat is making like 3 games now, and then also is publishing at least 2 more, after 3 successful games, Larian just opened a new studio in Poland etc.)
