But really SA wasnt horrible but it wasn't as good as other 3D platformers, the Dreamcast sunk Sega so most of us have bittersweet at most feelings for it, and also compared to classic Sonic, the one thing we always had over other platformers was that you could play Sonic with some actual skill and that it took it to be "good", Sonic Adventure is all railroad gaming and quicktime events

If you could just glue your thumb to right on the d pad the game would be braindead. No platformer wants you to go at max speed all of the time. This is a standard you only apply to Sonic.

You're meant to replay the game and get better so all the zones are faster. Sonic 1 allows you to skip most of the stop and wait sections that do exist in the game. Smb3, SMW, and YI all have multiple autoscrollers and generally more slow sections.
