Alternative hypothesis
What if Theodore Kaczynski was used by the CIA to make the generally intelligent people subservient to those that have no issue using technology for their own goals?

CIA is known to have double entendre goals and means to achieve those goals. They fund whatever actor or group will get them to achieve their end goal, no matter the chaos and carnage it will happen along the way. I have read the manifesto and for all that it is worth there is a glaring flaw, technology isn't a source of evil but a means to an end, its a force multiplier if anything and it can be used to bring humans together and make us better. In fact, for most of its creation (before the industrial revolution technology in fact) it was used exactly for that. The real reason why industrial revolution is at issue is because capitalistic hyper-individualism is at contention, something that goes directly to opposition of our human nature which is tribalistic populistic ethnocentric socialism. In my honest opinion I believe that technology has become so advanced that it gives power to the individual immeasurably, which could go against the individualistic mindset if the person is inclined to restructure the use and application of technology. And who would be people that do this? Academics of course, people who are most socially inclined and desire towards socialism. And who were the main targets of Ted? The academics. Not the industry, not the tycoons, not even the tech people in the field, but academics who would want to better the whole of humanity through research. In one example, Nikola Tesla wanted to give the world free electricity though the Wardenclyffe Tower and the J. P. Morgan was suckered in to funding it. See, Ted never cared about solving the "issue of technology", he just wanted it to stay in the hands of narcissistic psychopaths that run the show. And if anyone got privy enough to put technology and power of it in hands of the people then they should be taught that technology le bad.

The system doesn’t need more bodies. It has already happened with the blue collar jobs getting automated. White collar automation is just the next step. You will file your application through an automated system, it will get rejected because an AI bot got the ick, and you vil be happy.

/sci/ - When is it too late to enter STEM?
Anonymous No.16710227

21st century STEM coasts on inertia. The system simply doesn’t need innovation at this point. Aviation peaked in the 70s, so nobody really cares about improving numerical solutions to Navier-Stokes. The benefits have saturated. Physics peaked in the 70s with “modern” power generation technology having the theoretical background for it already by that time. Who needs modern advances in biology when agriculture is doing just fine? And advances in medicine? Actual detriment to the economy due to aging population.

The brutal truth is that the modern world is simply doing just fine with last century’s technology. Marginal advances such as the internet still rely on last century’s technology for 99% of it. There is simply little to no incentive to being smart about things. Why bother when the system provides brute force computational resources such as machine learning? We are now openly seeing boomer professors talk about how mathematics and theoretical physics will be dead because muh AI will do every calculation instead. And it will. Sloppily, inaccurately, completely opaquely, and by sheer brute force. But does an engineer care that it’s only 90% accurate? That’s good enough. And no need to understand things around us, that’s for nerds. We’re all about progress up in this joint, no time for nerd shit. Praise Omnissiah!

>Going to sound like pic related

I've said this before but we're in an age where western enlightenment and axial age values are being rejected more and more with each coming generation. And by Western Enlightenment and Axial Values I mean AXIAL and ENLIGHTENMENT values. Your average Viking had more in common with a child raping African warlord than Socrates, Kant, or Garibaldi.
The reason for this is because when a system gets too big and automated no matter what the ideology behind it is, people will inevitably feel powerless and alienated and assume that all values or measures of success and ethics in those societies are bad and their opposites are good. And this isn't just limited to the left as,

>The Jews don't want you to marry your sister and have a harem of slave wives and expose ugly babies on rocks like a true based and trad Nordic BVLL.

Can attest to.

In our case those happens to be Axial values like fairness under the law, a distrust of tyrants, universal human dignity, work ethic, desire for self improvement, self-sufficiency, and collective duty. And to be fair to them, those systems did allow societies to naturally become so big and industrialized with little need of strong men to force unstable great leaps forward.

Moreover, this would explain the apparent aimlessness of this. This doesn't feel like a Russian plot, for example: It would have russian propaganda somewhere. This doesn't seem like a scam, it's too convoluted and not profitable enough. It doesn't feel like a hacker group just having fun, it's too serious.
But an AI quietly and sneakily messing up everything would fit within an extremist primitivist agenda.
