What are some good readings to change your life if you are cynical and nihilistic

Somebody said candide and waiting for godot but they seem very poorly rated by the general public

I helped a lot of people out throughout my life. When I was in school I used to help many others with their exams and assignments. When i became a wagecuck in big tech, i guided many of my juniors who I didnt even know with interview guidance, resume help and even lended money to few of my old friends.

As I grew older and more cynical somehow I have this sinking feeling that the universe should have rewarded me with a good life, wife and kids but that never happened. I feel like a bad immoral person now

I dont mean the quirk chungus or traveller types. I think my sad life is missing an extroverted social girl who will drag me to niche cheap places. I am trying to see how I can convince a girl like this to go out with a sad introverted man like me but I dont know if it only happens in movies and tv shows..
