I gotta say, I'm kind of glad I fell for the explorer meme. Mostly because gear isn't in a constant cycle of replacement and I can actually enjoy my character growth more. There's something to be said for a dungeon drop or crafted item lasting a level or two longer than it normally would that really sells the experience.
