i think we often remember things as they should have been, as what made sense, rather then what they really were.

if you look at every "mandela effect" the false memory always makes way more sense then the reality. and its always some obscure thing that wasnt worth remembering in detail anyways so you forgot some of it and then filled in the blanks with what would have made sense and then over the years you reinforced that false memory.
