You're absolutely right. Powerlifters have the highest injury rates compared to bodybuilders and calisthenics enjoyers.

If you can do one-legged squats, it means you have enough strength to barbell-squat your own bodyweight. Do you really need stronger legs than that? You think anyone gives a shit if your quads are huge?

Just do calisthenics + some bodybuilding-style isolation exercises for the mirror muscles.

I signed up for a gym last month because they had a special offer, 5 bucks a month for the summer.

Went there, and they have all those TV's with montages of fitness content running 24/7 to keep people motivated.
Only about 10% of the footage shown in those montages was of people lifting barbells or sitting on machines. Another 10% of it was kettlebell training.

The remaining 80%? Calisthenics. Because that's what people actually find imptessive to look at. Nobody gives a shit if some fat fuck who can barely walk lifts 200 lbs or 250 lbs. I do planches and handstand pushups in the park, people start taking fucking photos of me.

if there weren't enough people with this sort of drive for exploration, we wouldn't have discovered America, would never have found gold or iron ore high up on mountain ranges, sweet berries deep in the forest, islands or any continent other than Africa.

A lot of sports also only became a thing because people were willing to experiment with their bodies and see what it can do, even at the risk of injury.
