A hospital. I was doing an exchange program in balkans, and they had developed bit of a tradition during covid times. So basically after a difficult patient there would be a schnapp given to the people who had to don whole-body-condoms essentially.

So that tradition kinda stuck on, so there are occasionally shots of home made schnapp being drunk in the middle of the work day. Not every day, not every week, but occasionally.

And shit like that, amongst with the absolutely stunning scenery, is why I fucking love balkans. Except for albania. Fuck albania.

It's called hitting the apex. It basically means the car hits a specific point where it spends the least amount of time turning before hitting the accelerator. As long as 2 wheels are within the lines riiiiiiight on the edge, you try to make that line as wide as possible, which lowers the angle of the turn, which makes you faster because you spend less time turning.

oh shit, thanks for the support man.
The only problem I see is, that even though I have a 17 second replay-buffer in OBS, the length of the actual clips varies. With a variable length I might still overshoot the size limit.
Also I am getting tired and sleepy. I saved the links and will look into it for next year. Again, thanks for the hints. Much appreciated.
Also, I fear, that while tinkering with the settings now, I might miss a clip, which is nonsense, since I can just skip back on youtube, but I am entering rambling-territory now.

>The only problem I see is, that even though I have a 17 second replay-buffer in OBS, the length of the actual clips varies. With a variable length I might still overshoot the size limit.
I used AI to make a ffmpeg bat file that calculates all that shit automatically, just drag and drop the video file on top of the bat file, input the desired file size in MB and it will do all the rest. I can give you the script if you want but it's for x264, you will have to edit the ffmpeg command line for vp9.

I actually planned to make a fully modular script which would ask for everything like codec, size, resolution, fps, if you want to remove audio, etc. so you could use it for any video but never got around to it, maybe i should make it tomorrow won't be doing anything anyways.

>>149478242
Well idk the numbers for costs of entering a car in WEC, just for registration, but if i am not mistaken LeMans alone costs 100k just to be on the Entry...

WEC has 8 races (10h?, 6H, 6H, 24H, 6H, 6H, 6H, 8H) + has oversea races (Qatar, Interlagos, Austin, Fuji, Bahrain) + much more electronics in those cars cause of LMGT3 spec

GTWCE Endurance has (6H, 3H, 24H, 3H, 3H), no oversea races, less prestige and pretty much stock GT3 Cars, none the less, to enter a team you need to pay 120k i think and 80k per car.

So in Total, yes it could also be way over 1M, but since most Dentists race in Bronze and most of the times have also a Silver bringing budget i wouldnt be surprised if it is under 1M

Obv always excluding Car costs and possible repair costs

Otherwise from the last cpl of years i just remember
Alex Malykhin, racing in the 911 PRO Porsche
Dustin Blattner, consistently out pacing higher rated drivers, but building in the ocasional sbin
Ben Keating, i think most ppl watching would say that he is the best Bronze, has even raced the GTP Porsche

Literally the biggest scam in motor/sp/orts.
At the grass roots level, yeah, we take turns at the marshals' posts, duh. But an event with a literal million dollar fireworks display? You can pay the fucking jannies.
>>149478414
The base entry fee for LM24 is 63k, on top of which you have to add either 48k or 53k depending if you are a full season participant or not, as an advance on fuel and other services that you will use during the event (picrel), so yeah pretty close to the 100k you were saying.
Spa24 entry fee (again, not full season) is "only" 27.5k per car, with a 120k fee "for manufacturers" and I'm not entirely sure who has got to pay for it, the wording on the reguilations is pretty vague but it seems to only apply to full season participants.

Anyway what I was referring to with my earlier post was a single entry just for the LM24 race, not the full season (so it ignores all the full season costs), and when I first heard that number, it was during the GTE AM era which may or may not be more expensive than todays LMGT3.
Ultimately it's going to be pretty hard to make estimates on this without someone, at some point, deciding to disclose numbers that are usually kept secret.

Current WEC grid is Kino forcing manufacturers into Hypercar if they want to step up from GT-3 is a good thing imo. GT-1 was the Kino catagory with the MC-12s and Saleens.
>>149479783
But if they dont increase the Grid to 40 the Private Ferrari and Porsche probably will have to go for either Ford/McLaren

So they force them to race in Asian LMS and LeMans or do you think ELMS will move more towards IMSA style of racing?
>>149479760
Cheers m8
>>149479704
>Most expensive GT3 currently on the market.
Yeah holy shit I just found a used 296 GT3 from 2023 on sale for 668k
How much does it cost new, 800k?
https://51gt3.com/en/car/view/5093
>>149479946
Probably, but keep in mind, the cars are in high demand as what you hear its pretty hard to get one.

Renazzo Motorsport, the Team running a Lamborghini in NLS/N24 was promised one but then it got delayed and delayed and delayed till they decided to cancel and switch to Lambo.

To get one you need to be on their list and pray that you actualy get it. So obv used ones are normaly pretty close to retail price. It was similar with the 991.2 GT3 R, where at one point they said they gonna stop production but the new car came only 2 years later, in the mean time used cars and spares got more expensive than originaly new cars had cost.

ACO doesnt want to make ELMS like IMSA as I understand it so Asian LMS is the only option. Seems like a weird decision to me but i guess they dont want direct confilct with WEC.
>>149480275
Well so far only Manufacturer offering real customer cars is Porsche anyways. While the #83 Ferrari is entered as a seperate entry, the Teamorders showed that in reality its still part of the Factoryteam. Only others interested so far in the AsLMS were Vanwall and Isotta... probably hoping they are the only ones, still if P2 keeps racing there, we will probably see P2 overall winners, if, only Vanwall and Isotta show up.

>>149480275
ALMS is probably a good testing ground as it is a very short and relatively insignificant season where it's easier to do experiments like this without annoying too many people or having to stick with a possibly wrong decision for too long.
If the private LMH class turns out to be successful there, I'm sure they will move it to the ELMS down the line.
Also I'm not sure how this new class will play out with other classes, considering they are still going ahead with the new LMP2 cars and the LMP3 cars have just been updated. If they keep adding classes, at some point they are going to get the same problem WEC has, which is grid space.
>>149480418
They are expecting ferrari to sign up some customers even if the 83 isnt really one now. Thinking about it more it is not easy to find places for more cars I guess ideally they crowd out LMP-2 and LMP-3 in other series and not GT-3.
Those Mercs are falling apart
>>149480708
Last I heard Ferrari did not know when the next customer car will be offered...

Multiple sources suggest that Giuseppe Risi is already waiting in IMSA and ready to go for next year, i doubt that tho.

as says >>149480694
the AsLMS will hopefully attract some intresting entries. Could be intresting for "Junior" projects. But we are getting bit out of topic here.

You get a couple of warnings before you get a penalty. I think it's 5 or 6. Those strikes go away after 6 hours. It's also not per driver, but for the car so if a driver racks up 5 strikes and the next one gets another then the second driver will receive and serve the penalty. Last year they were handing out drive throughs left and right right for track limit violations.

Everything before line 40 is scripting just to calculate stuff
The actual ffmpeg commands are after that if you want to edit it.
Just drag and drop the clip on top of the bat file and it will automatically use it as input, it will then ask you for the size you want in MB, try 3.8 so you don't risk going over limit.
Output filename will be it's original filename + the size, ex: "input_3.8MB.webm"
Also notice I used the -cpu-used 8 -row-mt 1 commands because that made it faster for me, you may not need those.
Try it and see if it works for you.
>>149491091
Oh yeah of course edit the ffmpeg command line if you want to change resolution and fps. By default it won't change those from input.
>>149490838
Significantly better than his qualifying yesterday.
is there a reason stints are limited by time rather than fuel?
Genuine question, why does BMW usually have a shit quali where they begin in the middle of the pack, but always ends up in the top 2 by the morning?

Do they test these cars' dyno/power to ensure there's no fuckery going on? I'm a BMW fan, but this is suspect as fuck. It happened at the Burgerking as well, suddenly the ROWE was doing 8:15s lap after lap while the Manthey was pulling 8:29s. It's like they up the performance over time or somethingg.

Well, they can change the fuel mapping along with a lot of other things, so they might be able to get a but more power, but I would guess that they set the car up for race pace and just qualify wherever. Then they just cover the first half of the race, trying to stay out of trouble, then as it gets a little closer to the end, they push harder. They aren't doing qualifying lap times during the race, are they?

I see, haven't done that. I doubt it could be the reason why the bat file isn't finding ffprobe.exe(assuming that's the issue), I even made a new folder in another drive with only ffmpeg.exe, ffprobe.exe and ffplay.exe plus the video and the bat file and it worked.
The only thing I can think of is ffmpeg version, I'm using the latest win64 gpl from this https://github.com/BtbN/FFmpeg-Builds/releases
Or it could be some ltsc fuckery who knows.

To the anons at the track, how bad is the heat near the road? The drivers are getting sloppier than you'd expect for a 24hr race, lots of rubbing and corners aren't the best, wonder if the long summer day is taking it out of them.

They lost like 8 laps after and earlier pitstop where they brushed the wall (removed an eye), this time they've spent ages in the pits
last lap before pitting in was super slow (00:57, 1:45, 1:16) so might have been a puncture or something like that

Wow what a move from the Asston
I really, really like the information tag they use for some of these races.
>Leader status (if applicable)
>Car number
>Manufacturer
>Driver's name
>Place in class
>Diver's flag
>Speed
>Throttle/brake status
And it's well placed and not at all intrusive 99% of the time and it tracks and auto sizes perfectly. I wish other series would use this method.
>>149493193
I mean, we have had some mega shitter moments and 1/3 of the grid has retired or is eternally in the pits. Basically, all the shitters have shit.
Pepper has closed to 4 seconds behind the Porsche.
