But let's say he does: while it's true Ayton is better than Hayes or any other C on the roster, he isn't a winning player and is VERY soft and unskilled for his size. Anyway I've been thinking about this for a while. Wondering if when Curry retires he will be remembered and still talked about and defended as hard and compellingly as Kobe is now. Because I swear people actually used to downplay Kobe hard and for some odd reason he was never quite considered a GOAT candidate, Lebron basically "surpassed" him even before he got his 3rd (refballed) ring.
I have this weird feeling that Curry will be seen solely as attached to the era, rather than a top 10 caliber player. I already see it semi often. Its not that I dont think he will be considered top 10 for a while after he retires. I agree, but I cant explain why this is hollow praise. It wont last. Nobody remembers the first dude who really invented and cemented the jumpshot, even though hes arguably the most influential guy in the NBA EVER.
