>>95991157 (OP)Skaven. Let me find my 800 page Queek fanfic.
Shit TQ
Alternative Thread Question :
Favourite model of your least favourite range & least favourite model of your favourite range ?
For me, I really like the slaangors although I don't care for slaanesh (or beasts for the matter, rip)
As for least fave of my faves, the ripperdactyl kind of looks like shit imo. Could benefit from an updated model
>>95991186>best of the worstThe Grim Reaper looking dude from Nurgle closely beats out Big Ush (because I hate Nurgle aesthetic more)
>worst of the bestProbably Xandire from SCE, but that is mostly due to the dissonance with the actual character art on the box. Ignoring UW bands, it would be Chubbystant-Prime.
Ox has a mountain on his back and fox flies.
How the fuck is horse going to incorporate the river element?
>>95991229It will be the only model in the game to attack using blast templates.
>>95991240Knowing gw and their love for elves itโs entirely possible

Least favorite of favorite: Thrallmaster, Ikon is a close second.
>>95991184Why is so much skaven rule 34 gay?
>>95991186>Favourite in least favourite army Vanari Lord Regent, wish I could still play Settler's Gain for one in CoS

>>95991324Furries are overwhelming gay men or bi leaning hard gay
You aren't a furry are you?
>>95991229Why the FUCK isn't the Roo drinking VB??
>>95991186> Favorite in least Favorite Magamdroth. One of the best dragon takes GE has ever done, it still holds up.
> Least favorite in favoriteOssifactor/boneshaper. It's disgraceful how similar they are, clearly a limited edition model they decided was its own unit last minute.
>>95991186>Favourite model of your least favourite rangeGur rippaz, I just really like their shields. I really wish I could buy them separately.
>least favourite model of your favourite range?Pink/blue horrors, the kit should have been made more abstract. For as much as people love to deep throat the old metal minis, I dont think they did the job well either.
How does my brute look? I'm trying to do the kryptboyz scheme cause it's easier than the yellow/black classic scheme while still looking good.
>>95991186>fav model of least fav rangeidk maybe the magmadroth, or the Dude with the scythe on the skeletal pegasus from nighthaunt. I saw it in the store the other day and I was taken aback by how well it fits together
>LEAST fave model of fav rangeFungoid cave shaman. It was so close to being good but they put a weird mushroom on his head and a giant metal Iranian nose. Also ALL of the sun goblins
>>95991405that one's not quite done yet, my freehand needs some work too. here's the first one I did. 3 more to go after my current brute
>>95991229Ah yes
Because foxes are well known for their abilities of flight.
I posted last month about how I was committed to clearing out my Pile of Shame. Setting my mind to that task clarified it, so over the past weeks I've sold some models, gave some away, and decided what projects I really want to continue on with. I made a list of every one of my unfinished models. It came to 121. Which means if I do just a little more than ten models a month, my PoS will be complete within the year. That's more than doable. I'm going to be posting here at the start of every month to keep myself honest.

I mentioned last thread that some guy was selling the skaventide skaven half for 100 USD. Well I got it today and it should arrive in the mail in a couple days.
I have never painted a rat before or played them before but skryre's volatility (to myself and the opponent) seems super fun. New rat ogors are also very nice but I donโt like any of the other big moulder monsters.
I like all of the skryre units, especially their foot heroes with the cute rat-bionics and lenses. The ratling warpblaster and artillery batteries look fun as well. Stormfiends aren't my cup of tea, and I don't want to run more clanrats that necessary to fill their role.
Can any anon tell me what a blasty skryre list would look like and what units it would need to supplement the ranged firepower? I donโt know how far to lean into each battle formation in terms of my unitsโ keywords. Like, how many clanrats or non skryre heroes does a typical skryre list take?
>>95991468Flying is the way they added wind to the fox. Question was how will the add river to the horse.
Also, did you think irl oxen have mountains on them???
>>95991492The model solution is pretty easy, just have it racing through the water with some kind of cool splash effect.
The real question is how will it be reflected in the rules
>>95991508Considering the Riverblades have a combat move and instant transmission to a board edge. Iโd assume it could have charge mortals or move through combat with mortals that allows it to just plow through a unit without fighting.
>>95991186i dont generally like the ogre range but this squad in particular is great
>>95991508lord of the rings river horses when the nazgul are chasing arwen with frodo
>>95991476>make a list for me No, go netlist some tournament shit and find them yourself spoonfed baby
>>95991508>>95991593It's gona be a bipedal horse guy, not a regular animal though.
What is the difference between Seraphon and Tzaangors?
For Seraphon everything is according to the PLAN.
For Tzaangors everything is according to the KEIKAKU.
>>95991610Honestly it's the Bipedal assumption that makes this hard to picture. Doing a cool-ass water horse is ez-pz. Making a Bipedel Horse not look like a joke is a whole different ball-game.
>>95991476Play spearhead first before you get anything else new. Also just a word of advice, in a couple months skaven are probably going to get a Christmas box. So keep an eye out for that.
>>95991157 (OP)>TQFyreslayers, obviously.
>>95991625>What is the difference between Seraphon and Tzaangors?Dinosaurs aren't birds and anyone who claims otherwise is a millenial cuck buck broken by Jurasic Park 3.
SPINOSAURUS FUCKING WON, desl with it Rex-fag
>>95991642It will be worse than you think because the special character river spirit is already confirmed to be a female.
maybe they can try to play it elegant by giving her a long gown of some kind.
>>95991472Good on you, anon.
>>95991658Next you'll tell me whales aren't fish.
>>95991667>It will be worse than you think because the special character river spirit is already confirmed to be a female.
Bipedal water horse is actually realy fucking easy, because there's already a horse related water guy.
Just have a guy in a horse mask hold a trident and have some wave effect under him
>>95991667>>95991691reminds me of the horse god from exalted deeds in 3.5.
slap some lumineth armor and a fancy porcelain mask on this and its probably close to what you can expect
>>95991667Lexicanum says sheโs made out of water. Tough imagining what sheโs gonna end up looking like. I dislike how all the greatest spirits are Ymetrican, though. Sevireth should be Heloni(at least his origin is Haixiah) but is colored as Ymetrican, and another nation could be Daixoโs.
Just wanted to say thanks to whoever gave me advice about the blades of khorne from the last thread.
>>95991186My least favorite range is probably the stormcast. I am struggling to find a model I like from it, but I suppose the Knight Vigilor with the two dogs look ok. I wish the beast smasher and king brodd had more to distinguish them from eachother.
>>95991743>I dislike how all the greatest spirits are Ymetrican, thoughYeah it's just laziness on GW's part, lets them paint all the spirits in the same default color scheme.
I humbly request to be bequeathed the 4th edition Slaves to Darkness battletome. I really wanna see the Anvil rules in it.

>>95991476popular shit is the verminking and deathmaster, reinforced ratling guns, reinforced doomflayers, reinforced warpfire throwers clanrats are like 40-60.
>StD anvil gets you a flying monster with 16 wounds, 12" move, 3+ save, CS6, 7A 3+/2+/-1/2 (Crit Mortal) (Charge +1D), 6A 4+/3+/-1/3 Companion that can fight twice once per game and heals D3 wounds every turn plus a bunch of other shit because these aren't even all your DP for all this shit for 350 points
Fucking hell I wish we had access to this stuff in the regular game. StD needs a generic monster hero. Gonna get me a Tahlia and convert the bitch up.
>>95992265Isn't manticore lord still in?
>>95992346Nta, heโs legends.
>>95992265Its annoying with the named chars, sbgl lost vlozd, Tahlia has no generic, megaboss, verminlords, Mangler boss, Sludgeraker, and flosh nerfed hard.
>>95992265I donโt get why thereโs no generic version of Abraxia.

>>95992625>Because GW is more interested in desperately trying to build an IP with recognisable characters, than it is interested in offering a sandbox with hobby tools.>Haven't done shit with the game or it's characters since the edition launchedPick one or the other James
>>95992670The less mandatory and unique the special characters are the less widespread and renown they get in the eyes of the players.
There are no generic varanguard lords on thanatorgs so that abraxia gets fielded and talked about more.
>>95992742Name a character who is only well known because they had good rules and no lore.
>>95992794Magic the gathering is actually full of those, like Thalia only being popular due to being spammer in Death and Taxes
>>95992794How many people are familiar and invested with Kragnos lore?
>>95992794I'll give you two: celestant prime and kragnos
>>95992625The main motivation is that people bought Primarchs up and I'm sure the Fantasy/AoS imitations do well enough. How many chumps here bought Teclis?
GW are desperate to replicate 40k successes in AoS, so we get forced Blacktalons and Drekki Flynt immediately thinking that mirrors 40k's decades of beloved novel heroes finally getting models.
Design wise they probably prefer heroes barred from enhancements and AoS has always leant top-down with list building for varying reasons but now it's simplicity+competitive expectations (that's a glupshitto MTG deck, I know it'll be agro).
>1st edition: General gets to their command ability only, the general choice matters >2nd edition: General dictates battleline >4th edition: Regiment leaders dictate list options, Armies of Renown mandate hero inclusions, etc So it makes sense to exaggerate the significance of heroes with backstories.
>>95992839Kragnos has no lore, his book is non-canon and in official texts he's a nonentity
>>95992839I'm only invested insofar as someone who thinks kragnos should die on its way to his home planet, can be concerned.
>>95992839>came at the end of 2nd>Left at the end of 3rd>No longer relevant to the plot>Achieved nothing in his time on the Mortal realmsThats the lore of Kragnos.
>>95992850>the celestant-primeBeen ages seen I've heard the dude talked about, what is he up to nowadays ?
>>95992875>>95992918>>95992976I really wish they did more with kragnos. His aesthetic is top tier, wish we saw more of it in aos (although maybe a little bit better executed)
>>95992839He should have been a chaos character for beasts of chaos, shaggoths and other chaos adjacent monsters like ogroids, fimir, fomoroids, chaos giants, chimeras and shit.
If he was to be in destruction then he should have been green and worn a mask.
>>95993010I don't think we've seen him in 3e. We just got info that Yndrasta and Ionos have the same sort of universal stomhost clarance as him
>>95993027Yeh he'll fit perfectly into Ogors and Behamat, which make up 50% of all Destruction forces, if he was just a big orc.
How are great minds like you not in charge of the game?
>>95993027Dude remember the Stalagmite Squig and the Bat Squig from Mollog's Mob?
Kragnos should've been a gigantic overgrown sentient squig with centaur features - like some kind of Squiggoth/Squiggadon but he's so different from default squigs that people aren't really sure what he is anymore and they start worshipping him.
Maybe even a collection of squigs - a horse squig and some humanoid squig and hair squig all fused together as a Megazord
the model would've needed just small adjustments for that, and he would be a strange monstrosity that makes sense
Letโs say you had a Time Machine. How would you go back in time and stop AoS from failing?
>>95993051Yes, he would fit perfectly because all Ogors and Behemats worship two gigantic green orcs yelling "waagh" anyway.
>that sounds dumb!Yep, take it on Games Workshop, not us
>>95993076They don't thiugh. Way to show yoy're taking your lore from fucking Majorkill or other YT retard
>>95993059collapse the aetheric void into an aetheric plane of solid star stuff.
Now we can have ONE fucking map! Woah!
Also, how about we release the missing forces instead of coming up with some bullshit FOMO?
I can already see in the future:
the Fragglesnazz Hyenakin - hyena men fighting for Destruction! The Dovakin Ironlords - medieval robots shooting laser spells for Sigmar!
...meanwhile - Malerion who?
>>95993059Cancel the end times, instead have the campaign books set up the battle of middenheim which archaon is aiming at to break the portal beneath it, when he does the world doesn't end, instead the veil of reality breaks enough for the mortal realms (born between the world and the realm of chaos when the polar gates collapsed during the great catastrophe) to be accessible from the old world, with various portals opening or activating.
middenheim is a new mordheim/pragg-like ruined city with a magical fallout in the middle; various factions now begin colonising the mortal realms and encountering beings and factions that already arrived here before (sigmar arrived here when he left the empire, for example, some dwarfs followed grimnir on his quest to close the northern gate and arrived here, the elves that lived on those regions of ulthuan that sank with the sundering were saved by mathlann and brought here etc)
the mortal realms now exist in parallel with the old world
the game is an exploratory beginner friendly rules-light system compared to the mass battles of the stock standard fantasy rulebook
>>95993096My mistake, I thought Ogors and Gargants worshipped Gorkamorka like the wiki says.
You should fix it with your superior knowledge of the setting.
>>95993104The tenebrael shard is such a cool model. I hope that if/when they do malerion shit they'll get a full unit or somehing
>the dovakin ironloeda - medieval robots shooting laser spells for sigmarDon't threaten me with a goos time.
>>95993140Nta but ehhhh, it's "aspects" of gorkamorka, who are so different they should just be seperate things. All of destruction having to be connected through gorkamorka (who is obviously greenskin focused let's be real) is dumb as fuck. They just like fucking shit up, do they really NEED a shared quasireligion
>>95993010If he had an army it would be 10000000000000x better.
Fuck, get rid of ogres (send them back to Olde World) and give us the Kragnos race
> t. Has about 4k worth of ogres he is making for TOW/AoS
>>95993294Hey another fellow player of both games. I thinks Ogors should go back with Cathay being released because they lie in between Cathay and the Old World proper. Chorfs are coming soon so thatโll be another spot on the map filled in, just missing the mountains of mourn
>>95993294Kragnos race army has to be up there as one of the most braindead takes that someone has writen more than once before hiding away in embarassment.
What's the point of adding diet Sons of Behemat except with 4 legs?
If you actually had a brain you'd propose some wierd kitchen sink for all the realm natives like Kragnoss, think Abholons, Silen Ones, Ogroids etc., but that's not a kragnos race army and would still trigger you faggots who get tilted over not all units in an army being the same dude with different gear
>>95992850Prime's rules haven't even been particularly good most of the last 10 years. A better candidate would be Kairos.
>>95991658Holy FUCKING based.
>>95993027He never needed to exist in the first place. Brodd was the perfect candidate for a cross faction center piece.
You people see a hole, and want GW to FLESH IT OUT, to FILL IT.
Games Workshop does not do that with Fantasy, and CERTAINLY not with AoS.
Everything stays unfinished, in flux, uncertain, unconfirmed.
If there are 9 Cathay Dragon Children we will get 5.
If there are 5 kinds of Aelves we will get 4.
If there are 4 kinds of Orruks we will get 2.
>>95993367They'd be smaller you nitwit.
When they made an army around the Morghasts they gave them foot soldiers named Mortek Guard.
When they made an army around Witch Elves they gave them monsters and ranged units.
You don't literally copy and paste one kit when you conceptualize an army, you moron.
>>95993388Narratively it is nice to have some wiggle room if you have a really good idea for later. But it's still fun to speculate and imagine what might go in those holes. So to speak.
>>95993388I donโt want it to be completely full. Some mystery is fun and necessary. But they also canโt go around hand waving basic world building and leaving everything that isnโt immediately related to the plastic toys as a nebulous mess.
>>95993367>>95993417Kragnos is unusually large for his race iirc, the rest was more normal sized.
I think his pseudo-celtic shield, armour and mace style is really cool and I would like to see it applied more. Whether that means a drogrukh faction or in another form is fine by me. I'm also down for more destruction that isn't greenskins.
>>95993459I think if you went to GW and mentioned "a new destruction army completely unrelated to old Orcs and Goblins army lists" they would look at you like you're an alien speaking a foreign language.
Afterwards they'd start workshopping the new battletome for the Rogue Idols faction and the new Pump Wagon faction
>>95993388You will live to see the two missing Primarchs named.
>>95993524And at least one of them will be a black woman
>>95993524But I already know the names of Sigmar and Nagash
>>95993524They're named Rubinek and Malibron.
The first one was retconned, the second one is almost canon.
>>95993367See this other anon correcting calling you a fucking retard
>>95993417And it would NOT be another SoB (which is 100% a mistake anyway and sucks as an army and lessens the game and setting).
If anything, it would be a model swapped BCR, with big ish monsters and super heavy cav. Hell Kragnos HIMSELF isn't that big, he is just on a huge base with a retarded little cliff he is posing on to try to height Maxx (like a loser manlet in 2" boots).
Long story short, they have done nothing with Ogors in all of AoS, so cut them loose and expand the thing you CLEARLY want people to give a shit about (Kragnos). People will care more if he has an army, full stop
>>95993540Actually Sigmar is the third central head of the hydra between Alpharius and Omegon
>>95993388>there are 4 kinds of OrruksWhat
>>95993590Kragnos haters are delusional and write nonsens
Why'd we never get a Spiderfang Warboss on Arachnarok?
>>95993590Thereโs actually more if weโre counting fantasy, but think the differences between goblins and hobgrots
>>95993618Ironjawz and Gutrippaz?
>>95993606Why would we never?
>>95993590Bonesplitterz, Ironjawz, Kruleboyz, and the now super-squatted default "Greenskinz".
>>95993641What do you mean? Greenskinz have a great spearhead
>>95993641Bonesplitterz were addressed, they're gone.
Greenskinz were just squatted and the original fluff for Ardboys as the hardest Orruks that weren't Ironjawz was retconned/deleted, so the official cycle of life is
Ardboys -> Brutes -> Megaboss
>>95993707isn't this considered a terrible batallion by tow players ? or so i've picked up through hobby osmosis
what's up with the weekly AoS is dying threads?
>>95993810AoS seems to be dying. The 10 year anniversary is in 3 days and no one at GW remembers or cares.
>>95993863There's still time to de-transition and play TOW
>>95993810no mention of the anniversary, but really its the cathay shit that riled up all the ToW trolls again.
the reality is that we've already had 4 army updates with multi kit range expansions this year, so really we arent doing that bad. the gitmob and deathrattle updates were as large as some entire armies, and the deepkin and KO updates are more than just a pity hero which is a good sign.
>>95993929>all the ToW trollsdude, the same retard who's shitting up /aosg/ about aos dying or black female dwarfs on battletome covers or nonbinary fishelves is shitting up /wfg/ about dark skinned people in roleplaying artworks, cathay being redacted by sensibility teams, and other forms of concern trolling.
There's no tow vs aos thing going on, it's always ever been one or two obsessive retards brought up on tales of tortanic, console wars and /pol/, whose main form of entertainment online is eating and vomiting inflammatory stuff like a drug.
It wouldn't even surprise me if it was the same old ben, the type of collages and catalog spam is in line with what he used to do.
>>95994032meh they actually are shoving nogs and fat lesbians into every model range, but I'm used to it by now.
>>95993792It's mostly the lack of cavalry and that many goblins, but it's not actually a bad box to get started. Just slap on a boss and some boarboyz and you're set.
>>95993707Worse than the old SC and army bundle GW sold
Sometimes I kind of want to build four Warhammer Legends armies with the only four forces available, on round bases, and revive it.
There could be a narrative of the Skaven trying to sell some slaves in Naggaroth for the first time and things going awry
Is there ever a reason to follow the other mortal realms if youโre just invested in a single one? Outside of following the main plot, of course.
>>95994389Just play The Old World
>>95994475But then he won't have anyone to play with
>>95994475They're going to do editions and change stuff all the time with Old World.
Plus with Warhammer Legends I can play Throgg, Azhag, Skarsnik, Malagor, and all the other characters who will never get rules again.
Plus round bases look cooler
>>95992625Kinda funny how every single recognizable character from AoS is from WFB
>archaon>teclis>belakor>negash>godsI do think Abraxia and the Idoneth king are the follow-ups but that is a pretty damn low bar.

But on a serious note, thereโs radukar, katakros, yndistra*, skragot ( itโs genuinely depressing how lacking destruction is in the character department), and I guess thereโs krethusa.
>>95994684destruction has plenty of characters, but nobody cares about Gobsprakk or Gordrakk or Brodd because they're just a flanderized version of their faction's traits

>>95994607Legends is compatible with 3e.
I'd say homebrew warscroll adjustments for 4e would be easy, it's more about removing fun than translating
>>95994749You can go into Brodd's backstory, motivations and role in metaplot without even mentioning he's a giant. How is that flandarization of SoB?
Or do you just use fancy words you don't know hoping retards will agree with you if you sound smart?
>>95992625Their AoS Chaos novels have a pretty good track record,, Ill check that one out
How would you go about painting Spirit Hosts to resemble Ghostflame from Elden Ring?
I've been trying to figure out a good way to give them that greenish black core that leads into the pale white-blue fire but I'm kind of a brainlet when it comes to developing original paint schemes. Any advice?
>>95994853Huh, honestly I would play 3e over 4e, my best games in 3e just ignored battle tactics and grand strategies.
>>95995369Mimicing that exactly would be pretty hard, I can't really see my way to that
My best idea for getting something like it would be, do you see how the Hosts have like a main stalk, and then the head and arms and a bunch of tendrils all come out at the end? You could do the main stalk as the green is black and then the head/arms/tendrils at the end as the pale fire
I really hope the stormbringer/combat patrol magazine equivalent that comes next year(?) has all the old spearheads in it.
>>95995369You ever seen when people paint cloaks with like a galaxy pattern? Do that but with the whole ghost and go with cold blues instead of the usual purples
Wait, othar was for sbgl. I was expecting them to be a night haunt reveal, so now Iโm confused on the state of the model.
>10 chaos marine
>skaventide skaven (more of an investment/insurance than a project)
>8 rot mire creed
>5 cadians
>skink star priest and the leftover alt body you can use as a foot star priest
>3 kommandos
>4 brutes current WiP
Iโm getting hobby anxiety about not finishing most of the my backlog before chorfs come. I paint almost everyday for 2-3 hours. I really think Chorfs could be my darlings if theyโre executed and designed well. Iโve p much settled for painting mostly lots of Nurgle and gitz before that. I like them but chorfs can possibly be my new favorites.
I know my backlog is relatively small but I like to paint them to a decent standard and donโt batch paint more than 5-6 at a time depending on the project.
Do we know the rumored release season or quarter for the Dawi zharr? Iโm going to get their release box cause Iโm a consoomer but Iโd like to do it with a clear conscience that Iโve painted most of my stuff already.
Should I play an only Battlemages list?
Does anyone know the highlight color they used on the black and the brown they used on the armor paint?
>>95996760>Do we know the rumored release season or quarter for the Dawi zharr?supposedly October. I dont really know though because thats a valrak take and I dont trust the fat fuck any more than I can throw him.

We're still expecting something new for Nighthaunts soon, right? If I remember right they said something about them getting something this year.
>>95996845They got pushed back to either halloween or something idk. For now its idoneth, khorne, khadrons, (chorfs?), then night haunt. or fec. Idk. Really wish they made the idk and khorne release together.
>>95996770Looks like the same blueish colour they used to highligh chaos warriors, but a lot more subtle. Don't remember the paint name
>>9599573560-80 kits fells overly generous, even for those magazines
>>95997167How many were in the 40K one?also Just ditch the paint and useless brushes if need be, the minis are still probably worth less to produce than that stuff.
Almost thought this was Larp/cosplay gear.
>>95997312What is it then??
>>95997368I'm guessing those special portrait statue things
>>95997312the nurgle one actually looks pretty cool, but i'm never buying shit like this. People these days don't make enought to support a kid but have a bunch of disposable income that they spend on shit like this

>>95997588>no helmet for best alliance: deathOh man this helmet is so iconic!
>>95997635I was thinking a nighthaunt one, actually, since most others either have way too unwieldy crests or are too plain

>>95997652on a tangential note, isn't it weird that nighthaunts have the chariot with the entombed vampire, while soulblights have the chariot with the swirling spirits, and not the other way around?
>>95997635those aren't their actual faces, those are masks
>>95997635>>95997687so yeah, that could have been a helmet design perfectly

>>95997702I can go one step beyond
>>95997735Chainghasts already have the keyhole option. I ment that they should have used that specific head for the helmet show off thing

Got the two ogor spearheads boxes just for spearhead, but wondering how I could expand them to a full force. Looks like I'd already be at 1.7k, but idk anything about mawtribes in bigmar. Any must-have units or any units from the spearheads that don't scale well to 2k?
>>95998172You have enough basic guys, time to start on Stonehorns/Thundertusks
>>95998172Not an ogre player, purely going off what some guy at the lgs said :
Gutbuster side of the army is generally better than the beastclaw raider part, although bcr is fun to play
Gluttons and ironguts are great, leadbelchers not so much
Butchers are really good and synergize well with aforementioned gluttons and ironguts (I think) ?
If you want to fill in an extra 300 points I guess you can either look into getting a butcher + maybe some extra gluttons, or get yourself a big centrepiece bcr stonehorn or thundertusk. Depends on your preferred playstyle, aesthetics, etc...
Personally I'd go with the big monsters but that's just because I like em so much
Again take everything i said with a grain of sand. Maybe watch one of those faction pack overview videos on youtube if you want a more detailed/accurate look.
>>95998221>grain of sandKek you know whay i mean
>>95998221>>95998209good to know, thanks boys. i'll look into the butcher and a monster. i like the gutbusters side a little more personally, but im not opposed to a centerpiece model

>>95998335and here's the one I started today. about 2.5 hours of work. So glad I went with black armor for these guys.

>>95998335>>95998338looks good to me. nice job on the face
>>95998336So pretty much they keep the old tides but they have an alternate track which is instead teleport a unit-reduce enemy rend by one, -crit mortals in melee.
It's good to have options, I guess.
>>95998336Not like the old battle trait was super exciting, but I really dislike when a core faction skill in 40k or AOS is just a +/- 1 modifier to a primary stat.
>>95998336> Strike first or crit mortals > But ONLY for your turnA heavy nerf but it was probably needed. Losing the deployment tricks doesn't seem like it was necessary but in this season you probably didn't want to do it anyway.
Turn one redeploying a bunch of shit could be fun, especially if it's in THEIR hero phase so it can set up for your turn (including scoring) is very interesting.
We need some leaker Chad to just drop the entire book already, fuck this GW drip feed
>>95998335Needs MOAR cheques
So while making the nexus of grief I thought the enclosed crypt could use a led but it's base it way too small to fit the 9v battery for the led's I have , would grogs be mad at me for moving shit to different bases,
>>95998580nobody cares if the scenery is slightly taller.
>>95998580Dumb retard grogs who donโt appreciate sick LEDs wonโt appreciate it but letโs be honest we donโt care about them
>>95998336Not inspiring a lot of hope in me, desu. Too much lost for the flexibility of choice and our one big trick in turn 3 is nerfed. -1 rend is who fucking cares tier on a low save army. Crit mortals on melee weapons is only good on Namarti spam unless itโs going to affect companion weapons, in which case eels will love it, but the way the article reads doesnโt inspire confidence it will. And Sea tides is tides of death but nerfed.
>>95998403Itโs only one unit redeployed unless you take the subfaction to do 2.
>>95991405>>95991424Cool brute, Anon.
I've paused some 'Ardboys that I am batch painting and finished Morgok's Krushas a while back. It's been a few months since I painted anything though.
Pic rel is one of the 'Ardboys I've finished. I want to retouch him and make the armor dirtier but will wait until all of my other orruks are at that stage.
My girlfriend was on a trip recently and gifted me the mangler squig so I feel the urge to get back into it again.
>>95998631The hope is that taking away the "one big trick" means there's more design room for a lot more small tricks without them compounding so hard.
Whether or not they deliver on that promise remains to be seen.
>>95998687Has 4E delivered on a single battletome so far? The record is pretty grim.
>>95998687The one big trick is still there and itโs nerfed, according to the way the article reads itโs only out turn, not the battle round. And now GW has to balance the book with all units possibly being SF or crit mortals. This is the design team that thinks d6 damage is always 6 weโre talking about here. My expectations are in the gutter and I hope Iโm wrong.
>>95998704>My expectations are in the gutterYou had expectations?
>>95998735Yeah, read a little further and youโll see what they were. Weโre getting a book, so something had to change.
>>95997735reminds me of that thing from dark souls 2 on top of drangleic castle
how come StD don't have possessed warriors or mutations? Are they solely concerned with personal ambition over worship and servitude?
>>95998820Planty of Stds have random horns growing from their heads. I don't know about your country, but here that wouldn't be considered normal
>>95998820because the current range is a reiteration of the older models that were made plain on purpose as a blank slate for conversions.
chaos is meant to be full of mutations and stuff, but they're ideally so varied that trying to standardise them into a kit is a challenge to say the least, so you, the hobbyist must do it on your own.
>>95998704I don't think they think too hard about that, I've noticed there's a lot of lack of understanding how stats work on their team or they don't want things to synergize strongly. The wight king on steed is 230 points or something insane and he gives plus one hit to a unit type that specifically does the bulk of their damage on crit 6 mortals. The wight king hands out exploding 6s which don't stack with mortals. Mortek guard have anti charge when the battle trait gives anti charge and they don't stack. It's like the battle tomes are spat out by chatgpt or were written before they locked core rules into place. Most likely they were written for spearhead first and adapted to AOS after.
>>95998820They're new and chose to refresh the core attributes over superfluous additions, but mutations are failure not something to celebrate and every god army indicates divergence with blessings already.
Wilderfiend covers it alongside the Belakhor guys and formerly all the cultists I guess
>>95998862>but mutations are failure not something to celebrateNo? all the tribes under chaos see mutations as blessings.

Haven't seen it discussed here yet, but last week whitefang replied to some guy in TGA about cities of sigmar to "have hope". >>95999502Baseless rumours say dwarf theamed ironweld remake
>>95999502The hole in the cos line is very obvious. They have no damage dealing infantry worth a shit, so you have to run command squads and callis and toll and 20 or 30 cavalry. The wizards and tanks are next to be replaced, they're doing everything outside of directly just telling you not to buy anything old in the book.

gargolyan themed endless spells, a generic hero on a gargolyan monster, and gargolyan monstrous cavalry would also be incredibly based, but I'm not holding my breath.
>>95999903cogforts have a good amount of hype behind them, I feel like making them terrain would undercut it somewhat. Look at the idoneth manifestation for example, I think the reception would have been a bit warmer if they announced it as a normal monster or something.
I don't know which one i'd prefer, thinking about it. I mean it is a cogFORT, but on the other hand it's (supposed to be) moving around, at that point just make it a unit. i'm curious.
>>96000043>making them terrain would undercut it somewhatpeople want the cogfort to be as big as possible, but the bigger you make them the more impractical they are to move on the table, so a piece of scenery ensures they can make it as big as possible
>>95999903>>96000110I think I'd prefer it if the scenery piece was a metalith with construction materials and supplies on top, while the cog"forts" were towers with spider legs that occupy 130mm bases and then went vertical.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but my primary aim is just getting them finished and presentable. I'm doing less wet blending and more rough layering. For this guy I did a 1 part medium and 2 parts Athonian camoshade wash all over the skin just to help tie it together. >>96007905regular army abilities are replaced
and unit choices are restricted
>>96008045Ok then I retract what I said.
