Probably Xandire from SCE, but that is mostly due to the dissonance with the actual character art on the box. Ignoring UW bands, it would be Chubbystant-Prime.

I posted last month about how I was committed to clearing out my Pile of Shame. Setting my mind to that task clarified it, so over the past weeks I've sold some models, gave some away, and decided what projects I really want to continue on with. I made a list of every one of my unfinished models. It came to 121. Which means if I do just a little more than ten models a month, my PoS will be complete within the year. That's more than doable. I'm going to be posting here at the start of every month to keep myself honest.

I mentioned last thread that some guy was selling the skaventide skaven half for 100 USD. Well I got it today and it should arrive in the mail in a couple days.

I have never painted a rat before or played them before but skryre's volatility (to myself and the opponent) seems super fun. New rat ogors are also very nice but I don’t like any of the other big moulder monsters.

I like all of the skryre units, especially their foot heroes with the cute rat-bionics and lenses. The ratling warpblaster and artillery batteries look fun as well. Stormfiends aren't my cup of tea, and I don't want to run more clanrats that necessary to fill their role.

Can any anon tell me what a blasty skryre list would look like and what units it would need to supplement the ranged firepower? I don’t know how far to lean into each battle formation in terms of my units’ keywords. Like, how many clanrats or non skryre heroes does a typical skryre list take?

The main motivation is that people bought Primarchs up and I'm sure the Fantasy/AoS imitations do well enough. How many chumps here bought Teclis?
GW are desperate to replicate 40k successes in AoS, so we get forced Blacktalons and Drekki Flynt immediately thinking that mirrors 40k's decades of beloved novel heroes finally getting models.
Design wise they probably prefer heroes barred from enhancements and AoS has always leant top-down with list building for varying reasons but now it's simplicity+competitive expectations (that's a glupshitto MTG deck, I know it'll be agro).
>1st edition: General gets to their command ability only, the general choice matters
>2nd edition: General dictates battleline
>4th edition: Regiment leaders dictate list options, Armies of Renown mandate hero inclusions, etc
So it makes sense to exaggerate the significance of heroes with backstories.

Kragnos should've been a gigantic overgrown sentient squig with centaur features - like some kind of Squiggoth/Squiggadon but he's so different from default squigs that people aren't really sure what he is anymore and they start worshipping him.

Maybe even a collection of squigs - a horse squig and some humanoid squig and hair squig all fused together as a Megazord

the model would've needed just small adjustments for that, and he would be a strange monstrosity that makes sense

Cancel the end times, instead have the campaign books set up the battle of middenheim which archaon is aiming at to break the portal beneath it, when he does the world doesn't end, instead the veil of reality breaks enough for the mortal realms (born between the world and the realm of chaos when the polar gates collapsed during the great catastrophe) to be accessible from the old world, with various portals opening or activating.
middenheim is a new mordheim/pragg-like ruined city with a magical fallout in the middle; various factions now begin colonising the mortal realms and encountering beings and factions that already arrived here before (sigmar arrived here when he left the empire, for example, some dwarfs followed grimnir on his quest to close the northern gate and arrived here, the elves that lived on those regions of ulthuan that sank with the sundering were saved by mathlann and brought here etc)
the mortal realms now exist in parallel with the old world
the game is an exploratory beginner friendly rules-light system compared to the mass battles of the stock standard fantasy rulebook

The wight king on steed is 230 points or something insane and he gives plus one hit to a unit type that specifically does the bulk of their damage on crit 6 mortals. The wight king hands out exploding 6s which don't stack with mortals. Mortek guard have anti charge when the battle trait gives anti charge and they don't stack. I expect cities to get their fuckhueg cogfort as a scenery piece and I honestly don't care about them getting anything more than that.

cogforts have a good amount of hype behind them, I feel like making them terrain would undercut it somewhat. Look at the idoneth manifestation for example, I think the reception would have been a bit warmer if they announced it as a normal monster or something.
I don't know which one i'd prefer, thinking about it. I mean it is a cogFORT, but on the other hand it's (supposed to be) moving around, at that point just make it a unit. i'm curious.
