Are you breaking the cycles in your landbase? Up until a year ago, I always ran the full cycle of everything in my 3-color decks; 3 shocks, 3 surveils, 3 checks, 3 pains etc. I never thought about not doing that, because of autopilot.
But one day I looked at my Esper deck and realized I was running 20 blue pips for 7 blue cards in my deck.
So I started to trim. I kicked the blue versions of the battlebond lands, the painlands, the verges and the checks and run more Black/White lands and utility instead.

You could run lifelinkers as targets that also turn on the condition, but there's only Savra, Ghalta and Mavren, and Sire of Seven Deaths (lol) that have power 7 or up. i'm making a budget deck irl with like, table scraps from the bulk box. the landbase is about as good as i can afford, i might even just downgrade some of the pricier pieces like the floodfarm to basics, some of the pricier pieces like the dawn's truce and flawless maneuver i got from a few random bloomburrow packs i got given for my birthday or from an old precon my friend gave me. i also have the lathril preconn i've replaced a few cards with, but i'd like to try making a deck from scratch for the most part, i just don't really have the money right now to make anything "good" since i bought a house. i'm saving some money for the kilo precon when it drops.

There are certain things this company will never ever do, but the primary one that's always stuck out to me over the years is the utter lack of an actual mono green villain. Not just green in size but not color like the eldrazi, not multicolor green like cursed Garruk, and not just the token green guy (Vorinclex) that was created to fill out a cycle of bad guys. I'm talking a true green villain that is presented as such. All the other colors have had their turn as the bad guy but it has only ever fallen on green if one of the other colors can share the burden of evil.

Duskmourn was a love letter to 80s horror and it was downright enthusiastic about doing silly campy 80s horror shit like THE MEATHOOK MASSACRE... 2 and having cards have a Scary Guy somewhere in the frame lurking. It actually did something with its genre inspiration. The genre sets people get angry about refused to be genre sets at all, like Aetherdrift which refused to embrace the core silliness of Wacky Races or OTJ with tried to dodge the fundamental premise of a western but in doing so just tied itself up harder and created a plane that literally had nothing going on.

The game has a LOT of weird and seemingly janky mechanics, the escalating leveling system so grinding is actively bad for you, the fact the card game is 10x more profitable than combat for items, and the odd plot. I love the plot, but there's lots of strange bits. Oh and Rinoa sucks.

Aristocrats obviously, and with things like Ojer-Taq, Anointed Procession, etc. But make sure you have cheap reanimation to avoid having to recast her unless you're running things like Ashnod's/Phy Altars. Drop a ton of tokens into the bin, then kill her, recast, then do it again

Junction is kind of a really really retarded and game breaking mechanic, the money system where it's your SEED rank, the fact you could just spam limit breaks that did so much damage you could one shot optional bosses with a high strength and Irvine's rapid fire bullets and a few of the plot twists were kinda bad. Still a rock solid game but damn was it a weird position between 7s elegant materia system and 9s really fun customizable gear based one

I haven't played many multiplayer card games outside of hearthstone and pokemon when I was younger, but doesn't the lack of interaction on other's turns just turn into solitaire strategies?

I remember I was able to nolife hearthstone during the great beyond because I could play my turn in 30 seconds, go write half an email, switch tabs, and then execute the same protoss rogue combo line with no interaction (especially since secrets are kinda bad)
