Had my first game with the pointy elves. Sadly my second CP shipped late so some Kabalites and Incubi were primed only.
Went up against Black Templars. He had an absolutely massive chunk of Crusaders with the high marshall.
Sadly for him, my Incubi + Archon turned the group to mush, even after Helbrecht killed a couple with his ability. It was such a points swing I managed to win out in the end.
Also had a Court + Archon fight some Termies and while it took forever to resolve all the profiles, I managed to wipe it in a turn.

Very fun game, even if Lelith and her entire squad died to flamer overwatch without doing anything. A good start to my Drukhari.

Yeah I unfortunately noticed this. Its my fault for building a thematic army with a horde of screaming crusaders swinging their sword. And I try to only have tabard wearing infantry so my only shooting unit is my sternguard (which is great since they managed to reduce Lionel to 1hp).
Its a pity because Sword Brethren and Crusader squads slap hard in melee, but cant take a hit.
And terminators can take a hit but are pillow fisted.
At least I tried to play the objective game this time.
All in all I hade fun, even if I got bodied.

Either get a cheap airbrush from Temu for basecoating (about $15 with the airbrush and portable compressor), or use a wide-tipped brush. I got one from Tamiya for dirt cheap that I used for my Ridgerunner, worked pretty good.

There will be no scrapping of factions like this, dooming about this is so retarded and baseless it's painful to read even. 40k is basically complete and Deldar are few of the last things left to update. Nothing will need an update for years, if ever given how advanced plastic tech is. And what's worse for GW playerbase won't even feel compelled to buy hypothetical updated units of already updated models, given that no new progress in plastic molds will exist and no jump in quality will be present.

GW HAS to go full into subfactions and new factions to survive. Instead of scrapping, more new factions will be made, as if this wasn't obvious enough yet given what they are doing lately with Admech, Bolter Bitches, Genestealers and now Votann. They will continue do so by bringing back/fleshing out legacy/lore factions. Obviously Exodites will happen sooner or later and so will Lost and the Damned (Traitor Guard, Cults and maybe even they will be bundled with DarkAdmech to set them apart from loyalists). Slann too will exist eventually. Kroot and Corsair expansions are logical to make as well. They need more and more armies and subfactions of huge variety to make it easier to tempt as large amount of people as it is possible by appealing to various tastes.

This is why they rotate enemy factions in Edition starter boxes every time too, they have to force marinefags to start buying new factions and it works obviously given rising popularity of Necrons and Tyranids and this same will happen to Orks/Deldar soon.

Primaris as well exists to diversify amount of possible units they can create for Marines across all possible armor variants and subfactions that are Chapters.

The trick is to block out the colours and then hit the entire model with a single, unifying wash.

The other trick is to layer the contrasts. Putting a lighter colour over a darker one (like Skeleton Horde over Basilicanum Grey).

Depends on your definitions of non-limited and faction specific.
Titus was technically limited but they printed him out the ass and threw him in with that art book they were pushing so there's tons of him still available, and he has Ultramarines-specific armor parts.
Captain Centos they just came out with has a lot of the hallmarks of Ultramarines heraldry but is easy to just convert to whatever, but was ultra limited.
Uriel Ventris had his model not too long ago through the Black Library limited stuff, but I think he was also printed a decent amount.
I think most people already auto-assume Ultramarines for most models since they're just the posterboys anyways, even if the models are chapter agnostic.

Meaning the individual layers of paint are too visible. You moved up to your highlight too quickly leading to uneven layers. If you're going to drybrush capes you need to start from an even, dark tone, and working your way up slowly in half steps/mixes. You're going from too dark to too bright too fast and your piece is suffering from it.

I would make some alterations to the weapons if you want it to read as "made from scrap." Because they both, especially the lascannon, instantly read as "famous Space Marine weapons"

You can do stuff pretty easily. Like cut the instantly-recognizable slanted cowls off the lascannon and make the tips flat. Use tubing to extend the barrel tip if you don't like the fully flat look.

I would've tried to leave the armour plating off of the legs, too (but I don't know how new Dreadnoughts are assembled and whether that's easy or not). Take some cues from the ridge walkers and leave the mechanicals more exposed.

Basically I think you have a great basis but are skimping out on some of the work, including the easy stuff.

Will probably alter the lascannon into a heavy flamer though as that would be much more fitting for the gang. Also probably going to greenstuff some cloth hanging off the weapon pods on the side? Stippling or sponging some contrasting tones really helps big panels. Since youve got a dark midtone youd want to use your highlight colour and if youd like you can go in after and fill in some bigger chips with a medium brown. No need to go as heavy as I did if you don't want to, you can use the same technique for really tiny chips if you work more paint off your sponge
