The Dream Library has humble beginnings - Vëe understands how to go back to the same "dream" and start stockpiling her notes in the seemingly static and empty Dungeon room. Sometimes alternate versions of said notes appear, but she chalks it up to dream shenanigans.
After her adoptive father dies and Feodwra teach her time magic, she start to "bring back" alternate notes, decipher it via Starsight, then write it back. Both to get knowledge and to understand how dreams themselves work by contrasting all the changes. She starts travelling to get more perspective and end up treasure hunting - her Gift makes her uniquely able to restore barely readble texts and by now she loves collecting stories. That's the basis of her rivalry with Gunter: who will get the most relics with a pinch of "mage vs fighter".
Her ultimate goal is to create a way for everyone to enter the Dream Library by thinking about it before starting to dream. A shared dream that will preserve the memory of the world as it's endlessly rediscovered by new people.

The Longest March begins anew—a Legacy March. While the world above struggles against the Ecumene, I remain in the Underground, waging my own war. With each step and every kill, I push back the darkness.
Our assault begins with a double strike into the Ecumene’s basement at Midday Crossing. Once we gather there, the march continues toward Tsoshu, then westward. Along the way, we make a detour through Chervolonin—not only to claim the 3/8th's corpse for Baf, but also because it is our inheritance as the heirs of the Longest March.
The road leads to two final adversaries: Dis, and whatever waits below, and then the Second Seat. With my skill at piloting war machina, and with a companion who can forge new ones, the path splits after Parsmunia.
If Vtorusha cannot be reasoned with, then the choice is clear—we fight. It will be Armored Core against the God-Killer Machine, and afterward, I must face Charlotte.
But if the machina can be controlled, then a greater conflict awakens: the Second War of Heaven and Earth. In that struggle, Buki must be fulfilled.
Perhaps I will not survive. But by then the Underground will be cleansed of Nightmare, making half the world habitable once more. From there, the scattered outposts and reclaimed lands can be reforged into something enduring: the Eternal Empire, named for its unyielding, undying nature.

Az is actually kinda good. Don't play guessing games with what the DM thinks is cool, just let them write your character arc for you and enjoy the ride. And if you're worried about identity death, they'll probably pull the original you out of stasis again later. They love bringing old characters back.

For the sake of identifying legal members of a Tide in an objective format, we're first going to list the appellation of a character and a permalink to their build, then their NPCs in the order shown by the CYOA, and then their Youth and Quest. All characters then have a parenthesis explaining their perks and deaths, in that order. PCs will be indexed by their location and then alphabetically. This is only a catalogue for builds with Outer Tide.

Az is for character builds, for which taking Outer Tide means nothing because they don't exist to begin with, so I believe that they shouldn't be included in any Outer Tide lists.

Of course, this is said with the assumption that no one would actually kill themselves. If one wishes to prove this assumption wrong, I would be glad to witness their evidence.

How many of these alternate worlds will fall into chaos due to anons conflicting with each other?
I imagine 0^0 will be defeated in most of them, but then anons will carve up territories for themselves and lead the world into a dark age until some specialized outsider gets reborn and eventually fixes the problem.

The answer is probably symbolic. Maybe 45 outsiders after the 45 letters in the god-script?

>How many of these alternate worlds will fall into chaos due to anons conflicting with each other?
Most of them. An outsider conflict after 0^0 is the next logical progression for the storyline. I can see a rare few worlds with peaceful anons getting the Pandaemonium dream merging storyline though.

>anons will carve up territories for themselves and lead the world into a dark age until some specialized outsider gets reborn and eventually fixes the problem.
Depends on the anons obviously. This tide for example doesn't have belligerent royal claim builds or 0^0 wannabes with plans of reshaping the setting so far, you'd need plenty of these types for an iteration of the world to go to shit.

Also if I'm the son of the Viceroy of the exarchate and his wife and reveal myself as an outsider, and also use true love on Kalliope to marry into the Empire. Then Charlie knows my choices and she will pick a fight with me. So just killing her second in command first would be a good move. Copying a previous post of mine.

The easiest way for most letters is:
1. Use magic to not let your soul enter reincarnation immediately.
2. Let your body die whatever death is picked.
3. Have prepared magic heal your body.
Essentially die and immediately revive. May need a few more steps or some modifications for some letters.

For letters that cause ego death, rewinding with prepared time magic is the easiest way.

In any case, it's best if you intentionally cause the death yourself to have control over the situation.

Outsider System choices are a double-edged sword in terms how some can bite you in the ass and did so to previous Outsiders. With Death letters are your best defense because of their other meanings and ability to influence the narrative of the world and manipulate fate with right choices since you stack them in your favor to manipulate pre-determined event as they are enforced by Outsider System.

I can no longer change the race of a character to another magical one but instead optimizes them closer towards the mystical ideal of their race (The strength of this is effected by my understanding thereof), for example a Drakonid becomes a greater and more terrifying beast when transformed and can maintain dragon form more easily or an elf gains everlasting. In Majin this allows them to become a greater conduit for their letter of the god script. This is impermanent as usual.
>The actual trick here is to combine it with the use of my Zelo which leaves behind 0.5% of their buffed state allowing this inherent magic to grow through many repeat applications, after thousands of attempts at this an elf could become truly immortal, a Drakonid could become a perfect hybrid and a Majin a True Daemon, a complete vessel for a letter of the godscript (of course only one could exist per letter). These are inheritable and somewhat dependent on a persons intial gifts so a good few races could branch off from any experiments.

Very standard mental pack loaded to hope that whatever person comes out of the Az pick is smart enough to use the bootleg All-Glimpse, low-cost martial options and all the UT'd knowledge to survive in Dis. He still has the Stigmata and the Beauty to not get KOS, but it's going to be trouble. If he survives the City, then he gets to wait until Jdan walks in and trigger the only possible Encounter among the encounters, besides Rhucuphre's Nightmare, which I don't mind getting triggered early to proc True Love. After that, just a lot of wandering around as Jdan pilots Orkha into making the best choices at the right time. because 0^0 can't effectively act around Mamet and Orthrung until Orkha gets around to doing some of his encounters, and even in Tsoshu, she can only play consolidation because Orkha's also still forced to do Digging For Trouble around Bastionaria.

Very boring deaths, Ielsiazeh has to somehow teach Theater to this guy in the wastes, Pukluxun gets forced into a role and dies in that role, Rhucuphre dies (hopefully) because she somehow got warped into True Love with this guy, Upunth gets the die in battle, Jdan wanders off to nowhere, Esu Dream-merging trick, and Polkan just dies to whatever curse he meets or a miscast of Orkha's. Az Zemlya's there just to see if my memories can make a comeback even through an Az somehow.

Youth is there so he actually gets decent foundations without parental support, and the Quest is so he gets why 0^0 should be dead. If I had to guess about how he turns out, pseudo-Solipsistic caster who autodidact'ed his general kit from Dis. Might or mightn't have Upunth's weaving of dreams and trances, depending on how good A Clam And A Storm was by. Definitely got messed up by Just A Nightmare because of Starsight.

My plan is to create a group of 45 majin each with a unique letter, I can then elevate them each to the rank of true daemon over the course of a few decades I can then use the one with yee to bind them together into a full rendition of the godscript in entity form and use Izbor's daemon piggybacking with Baf's ability to gain its complete understanding.
There are a couple of good plot hooks here, using my ability on non-majin races to create basically ubermensch in their species, the effects of physically incarnating full letters and the process of keeping together a group of 1-45 demigods for several decades without one splintering off and joining pandemonium or something.
In terms of interactions and my general behavior I'll probably be fairly reclusive planning everything out and making sure that my 45 Majin are well cared for along with learning Godscript. I'm more than willing to craft stuff for others or buff them so long as it doesn't interfere with my great work (Through diminishing meaning). I'm a bit of a coward so I'll avoid taking sides in conflicts between outsiders in the tide and can probably be threatened easily because squishy mage. I will get pissy if people start fucking about with the letters though, I need those.
I'm pretty sure Enochian brand is a trap option with all-glimpse, you just start writing over reality without knowing meanings and no way to stop it.

Dis got buffed with +1 Mentor Slot and effectively free +3 Destiny from Everman. You can have Fay as well, which adds +1 Ancestry and +1 Destiny. Really good stuff.

Az is also pretty good at making a person to pilot against 0^0. You don't need the baggage of actually knowing that Charlotte is mimicking Old World tech to know that everything she builds is false. You barely lose anything if you have a way to contact with someone with relevant info as well.

Enochian brand + Meandering thought is a trap option
All-glimpse is just more difficult to manage, because your an outsider you can't really die by non death slot means so you can't die from mispelling the godscript as a child and also you have an adult mind not a babies, so with proper discipline its possible to master such thing, kneeling twilight and attentivness should help with keeping focus. Worst case you can just overuse your enoch brand by casting some low level spells until its exhausted from overuse. Don't really know how long the cooldown from overuse so it might just be a minute or two so easier to just have kneeling twilight.

Tank confirmed that Dobrava, the GOAT, can solo Nilmatrix if you put them both on Gunter's team and take the Shadow of God encounter. Also you can take the hidden races if you have JNPL as your mother. Except Empyrean.
Exact quotes
>(Redditor)I also suppose it won't work on "shadow of god" since it is said to be the last encounter so you will already have met Dobrava so she can't use her hax.
>(Tankista)It's actually an intended secret strategy - that's part of why the text says whoever vanquishes Nilmatrix gets the reward, not specifically you. However, to achieve this you need to set up the B team under Gunter Lilim. He needs to have both Dobrava and Nilmatrix as his Companions, and then Dobrava's solving of her Encounter should apply.
>(Redditor)How about Dobrava constructing the Encounter so that Nilmatrix gets permanently killed by a Companion or Mentor?
>(Tankista)That's possible, but it would likely require that person being in Gunter's party for that to work. And it'd likely fail - Dobrava winning by herself is the most likely result here by default. Everything else overcomplicates things and just increases the chances of her failure, which is why it wouldn't happen if the circumstances don't favour the outcome.

It probably depends on the situation.
If you had played into it, then you've successfully avoided the death fully - which also makes Zenia's entrance kind of redundant, since you did most of the prep work yourself.
If you did not play into it, then the death did not come to pass yet, so you still have it on the horizon. But Zenia did properly save you at that time.

Which I can do, I have an interest in the mentors who teach dream and necromancy related stuff instead (though getting any satisfactory amount of either would be hard since around half of them are taken, so it's like half in one half in the other) but the big issue for me is that someone has already taken Omega, which I won't really negotiate on. Okay let's break down Nilmatrix

>Is an empyrean. Solution: Figure out how to kill one. Gerwyn aureole's diary will probably help a chunk but might need more work. Kilyn's killer wordplay is very likely to point you the right way to figure out to make your own if you can't just simply copy hers to kill her. It did crippled 0^0 so it will probably devastate her if not kill her right then and there. Even a bastardized version might do.

>Has a rough equivalent of Daemonhost. Solution: Either have an army of your own to deal with them or have a way to sweep through chaff quickly

>Master of any form of physical combat. Solution: This one is so straightforward that i don't really know what to tell you. Be good enough to not be steamrolled in any way you see fit.

>Herald of the divine mandate: Be prepared to deal with Final Destination bullshit. All-Glimpse is the most obvious one to see them coming but View of Fore can help if you managed to keep those eyes up until this point. Another obvious one would be having a fate that prevents you from dying outright from those. That being said that doesn't mean they can't just set you up to die by her hand instead.

>Vicar of the holy see: Know how to fight mathemagicians well enough to be able to fight the best of the bunch excluding 0^0. Either that or don't use that much magic to deal with her. Numerology is likely to help eitherway.

>The world-shattering betrayal: Be a paranoid fuck that will draft fallback plans for everyone they meet or Pop an Eye of Fore so you can see it coming because it happened already and plan accordingly after that. Sleep mitigation and abstaining from dungeons highly recommended.

Roughly that should be about it no?

The goal of the build is to take no non-unnotable contacts, so it cannot possibly contradict other Tide builds.

I am born a lowly muddish human, to an unnotable dad and mom in Dis.
One day, my mom slowly morphs into two mini-moms like a cell undergoing mitosis. My dad, observing this wondrous event, nearly has his mind split in two - but this doesn't happen, he remains sane, phew.
I try to get into schools to learn magic and necromancy, so I can one day turn myself into a lich. I also try to contact other outsiders, so they can point me towards mentors.
Then, once I'm ready, I tell any outsider friends that I've found that they'd better vouch for me, and I kill myself and become a lich.
If people try and chase me due to toxic anti-lich sentiment, I escape with lvl3 esurient walk. To avoid such situations, I try to travel with other outsiders.
Aside from the lvl3 esurient walk, my powers are largely normal caster powers.

This too. I believe it said somewhere that her understanding of math/science was flawed which is why the magic system has exploitable holes. The way I understand magic to work in this universe, is to have faith in it.

She fucking hates the God-script and the story she has been put into, and uses her own perception reality to bring comfort. Once I tell her why math isn't real and practically the same as God-script, she'll crash out and lose her understanding of her own work as she loses faith in it's reality which will bring everything crashing down. Eh, there's also people who cannot fathom Nilmatrix being beatable and so consider any build that picks her to be automatically doomed. You cannot just say "if you didn't pick this specific choices you will die", the story is dynamic and even without them a way to beat her would be found, or you can just punch her really hard in the face. It is in part the return of the unbeatable Charlie argument where people take her words at face value and cannot conceive the idea that she's a flawed girl who nearly died to the elves calling her fat poetically.

well that is why I specified without a plan, to defeat Nilmatrix or Charlie you need to make a build tailored to defeating them. Defeating Charlie probably requires way less fate fuckery in your build simply cause you can have way more prep time and acquire resources and powers not provided by the outsider system.

Nilmatrix encounters scripting makes acquiring these extra resources almost impossible as it attacks you just after you finish acquiring your companions this means most of your time will have already been eaten up by resolving the encounters and learning from your mentors.

So if you do not have methods to deal with her via a Dobrava B team or at least Gewgrin note decyphering mixed with something like Zenia to give the narrative punch. There isn't really a way for a build to permanently defeat her. Which will prove mostly detrimental as it might have resulted in a companion casualty and 0^0 now knowing from a early age that you are working against her thus limiting your future prep time and ability to deal with Charlie.

The encounter will happen after all other encounters and meetings have passed. This means that in the interim you could have fought in a war, learned the secrets of Empyreality through a hidden note, found ways to kill Empyreans in Tsoshu and gathered the support of nations.
Of course picking choices that can actively help you against her will be a massive boon and that if you pick her you will have to prepare for the encounter from a young age if you want to survive, all I'm saying is that assuming that the given choices are the only way to survive is reductive to the story as a whole. Just look at Keter choices and her results, she managed to seriously make a dent in Charlie and achieve all sorts of feats during her travels but her initial choices don't point towards some specific build or goal.

Additionally, it would logically make sense for certain companions or mentors to remain with you, however encounters charge extra for participation. You mean I’m meeting a fated companion in Dis, then somehow making my way to another continent to meet a different companion, then we’re all gonna meet up again in the future? Depends.
I'd say her character is defined by her thirst from freedom - from the Eldar ruling over her family, from the Eldar Gods, from her past mistakes, from the Letters, from (You). Telling her about the Outsider System was a mistake because she'll never be content living like a rat in maze.

On Earth, without clear divine intervention and scripted events, she could think everything is born out of causality, which makes her free. That's why she's still talking about her wish to go back despite being so entrenched in the Usurper plot - her truest wish is to live the comfy slice-of-life Providence lifetsyle, and she's mentally unable to in this world.

>PPP successor
I know what you are talking about. Italics did mention a spiritual successor to PPP+. But he has not released it or anything for a few months now as he is supposedly working on finishing Echoes PSY and Magi Case II.

What I recall about him talking about spiritual successor is that it's some type of science-fantasy setting, instead of being the Hero like in Pokemon Personified we are someone called a Candidate. The Imperial Thrones exist in this world and we are supposed to help align it an ideology faction like the original PPP had.

Outside the basic premise we don't know much else. Honestly, Italics has WAY too many CYOAs in the works and he hasn't hyped build for any of them since Magi Case outside maybe him talking about making a pure fantasy CYOA where you are a mage and married to an Elf wife. But even then he mostly focused on the Elf waifuism instead of the systems.

Even though they'll have a 10 years age gap, after Blazkho finishes his training he'll be in his mid-late twenties and Apantoxia will be in her teenage years, so I think it'll work out. So to satisfy both of these statements, Dobrava has to be in another party. That way Nilmatrix is both chosen as a Companion (just not yours) and the Encounter applies to her being chosen.

Would you rather the person you are supposed to marry have a good relationship with you or a cold one? Because if you are a King or Queen you MUST marry. Since my build will mess with Malkuth and the Old Throne to activate the God-Killer, I didn't initially choose it to avoid bothering people, but looking back, he should be a help to the Tide. The personalities I've chosen aren't very well-liked, so they won't be missed, and the Legacy Tide will spend the majority of its time underground until late game.
I'll add it next thread with the missing Youth section. I still think picking "Nothing" is thematically accurate for a focused build like that, but a few more won't hurt.

Is that even true? YMRD and SRTR are actively excited by the end goal of pandemonium, and JNPL describes Du'um (who has the same end goal, but different menthods and intentions) as "actually benevolent". I think the pretty clear implication is that pandemonium's nihilism is the problematic in the eyes of the Elder Gods, not their ends. In that light, I think it's pretty clear that you can reinterpret Rhucuphre's scheme into something that the elder gods approve of, if you want to maintain their patronage while turning the world into a dream.

I think you're underestimating the psychological damage you're going to experience from having an unloving childhood. Even though you have an adult's memory, you're going to have a baby and then a child's physical brain, which'll impact your maturity and emotional response to things. You also have that childhood for 16-18 years, or even over 50 if you're a Dwarf (since elves seem to mature at a human rate as children, but those with Overendurance do not.) and even an adult can be deeply psychologically impacted by that kind of thing for that long.

Damn my irl meandering thoughts. I still haven't fully determined what to do with the extra points I got after it was confirmed Simplified Duergar and the Uruk encounters stack.

I couldn't call myself SRTR's strongest spider/soldier if I took 0^0 for an additional 12 points, even if I could still get priority blessings with Devout Signature and have an amicable relationship as Stigmata is how I'd flex to the other SRTR followers. On the other hand, 24 or more extra lives from Overfull Pupil for me and every one of my children is such a significant boon I'd feel like it'd be foolish not to take it. I could also go for the adoption strat to get an extra 3 points from refunding + 1 extra point for an additional Burn the Future exchange by choosing Unnotable One, but I like my parents quite a bit.

Right now I've cemented on Boiling Blood to add to the build, and was considering Cognitive Speed but Ethereal Beauty and maybe even Vigilant Strand could be an option. Or just Ethereal Beauty and a single mentor to fill one of my slots.

>FATHER: thallan (death: iotated greater yus)

>GIFTS: boiling blood, longevity, cognitive speed, memory retention, wisdom, intelligence, attentiveness, spiritual feel, martial instinct, caster instinct

>evil eye x1, god hand x2
blessing: glorious reprisal
upon my death the one who dealt the last blow will also receive the same wound that killed me, this is not a transfer so I will still die and it only counts the singular wound that cause death so if I get death by a thousand cuts then its only going to replicate the one cut that caused death

My 3 part plan is foolish.
More outsiders means more chances to take down 0^0 but that won't realistically happen until Nilmatrix is out of the game which is the first part:

gewrgin gives information on her weaknesses and tactics
jisilbert's godscript is effective against anything and if killed by casualty will just survive as a new existence while still being herself
unputh has martial skills and knows dream stuff, no one-up upon death so he will be out of the fight but at least its not a permanent death and might 'reset' him to be unbroken again
esu can affect dream-like beings which empireans happen to be, and the guaranteed survived death should also let him survive once
omega is immortal so she could tank quite a bit
evdokia can suck her soul to prevent revival and also has immortality
finally, I would also have dream and godscript skills, and she can't casualty my death because it has to be delivered by 0^0

There is a small 'fuck you' with my death slot, 0^0 HAS to be the one dealing the final blow and as she doesn't know my build, so she won't know of my blessing nor of my undead revival, meaning if I play my cards right and she shows off her strength against me then it will also hurt her back AND I would eventually return as an undead without her knowing anything

with these I would kill the biggest threat to outsiders, screw up with her plan and harm 0^0 while the other outsiders do their stuff

the third and final part of the plan is for me to revive as an undead, since 0^0 thinks I'm dead already it should let me hide and bide my time to find or create another opening to kill 0^0 for good

>INB4 "erm, you can just send gunter to his death to kill Nilmatrix"
YOU FOOL, you are not only cursing other by filling more death slots, there would also be no Meaning™ in that kind of victory, dooming other to cheat the system is literally the 0^0 type of thinking that has to end

It was a comparison, but not an exact one. Essentially, my bubble is my phylactery. You could compare it to Koschei, my death/soul is hidden there. Every time I die I seemingly pop back out of nothing. I mostly did it to dodge becoming an Empyrean and do brane interaction fuckery. Normally it's collapsed and just outside of reality's boundaries, that or in pandemonium, not sure which yet. But yeah every time I respawn from scratch I crawl out of a tear in reality rather than my spirit going somewhere else to reform it possess my body.

Yeah, technically I'm killable, but I'm honestly fine with this setup. Death is inevitable but I'm happy with the amount of time this buys me. It also has use in the various techniques you can do with it like a non supernatural/true earth physics zone, a pandemonium zone, or overlap modes where magic is fucky. No matter how depraved or horrible our actions could be, I consider it all to be meaningless. In light of that, it is my obligation to drag this world through the mud and ruin the tale, whatever it might be.

There is only us, and even the narrative of fate is merely an illusion. It is up to me to prove to the storytellers that their works are worthless, to punish them for daring to make something like this.

And so, I shall inflict as much dread and suffering as I possibly can. I know they cannot avert their eyes. I shall tear out the heart of what they consider to be their marvel, for what they depict is beautiful cannot possibly be anything but abominable."

I think people trying to 'save' Charlotte don't seem to realize that her death rune basically meant she'd commit suicide by having her soul subsumed for another entity, or something close to that. Then she went and got absorbed by 12 Demon Lords, and even though 'she' managed to wrest control away, this is the most logical place where she ceased being herself and became someone else, tainted by those beings. So the real Charlotte isn't in there anymore, she died and got replaced with a bitch.

Yat simply makes your death a choice, if I am to die then I would at least have that be the case, what rankles me about death is not its occurence but it being forced on me. The spirit based ones are dangerous but they're also some of the very, very few which mention potential ways out and getting an ally to eat your soul then spit it back out or possess you seems a lot easier than the alternatives which don't possess wording which allows for escapes.

Best: easily controllable ones like Yest' and Yat.
Worst: uncontrollable and difficult or impossible to negate drawback ones like Az and Her'V.

Yat is the absolute best. If you see into the future or predict that it might be forced somehow, you can trigger it in advance easier than any other letter. Kako is similarly good, but a bit more hard on time.

One may conjure situations where Yat may be bad, but all the other letters are simply much worse, more easily triggerable by things outside your control.

Control is the key factor. The more control you have over the death, the better.

Using music to cast is no different from spelling. Useless, nothing new.

Lukag casts in verse and it's different from normal spells. Music could reasonably do something similar.

even if it sounds similar, the small differences in Meaning could turn it into a completely different system

Erina (mentor) who uses numbers like a mathemagician would but instead of reducing anything to just numbers it also gives them Meaning

saying words and singing words could easily be different enough to be different systems

is there even a rule about adding multiple death modifiers to a single person?

like imagine you get iotated greater yus, you are immortal until you get ego death'd but you become something greater a (you)^2

then add zemlya so when (you)^2 dies you rise back as an undead

then add yee so when undead (you)^2 dies you reincarnate with all of your memories again

Imagine all the Meaning you would get from all this time and experiences

Vtorusha did exactly that with "One". That's why you can "reincarnate" him as undead. Just don't. The Old Gods are not your friends. Their system is heavily skewed against you unless you know what are you doing. If something is not written down, you better interpret it in the worst way possible. SRTR wants to have fun, she doesn't want to make you happy.

You can't add multiple deaths, because everything must complete at your death. If you added both zemlya and yee, then you'd reincarnate as an undead, not one after the other.

(There have been no gay instances of true love so far)
(And even if there is, honestly, why not. The gods have control over their looks, maybe they'll go easy on me)

The only outsiders to really get screwed are 4, 8, 9, and 10. Savmak admittedly was just fucked by a build mistake (shouldn't have chosen Zemlya), but the other three mostly fucked themselves. They're literally not evil, you just don't like the idea of storyteller-gods.
