I think I got them to phase out once or twice and score some wins on objectives but that was it. Only later found out that you should target everything moving fast first. Also when I fought them later during 4th or 5th with my Eldar I was able to fuck them up quite well by just rushing into CC with them and winning some combat where I swept them (if I recall correctly). Also made playing against IG and space marines way more fun, since stuff would actually die and it wasn't such a onesided slog.

Okay, based on some suggestions in the previous thread, I made some changes.

I removed the brown, removed some of the blue, and changed it to white. It's basically the pre-heresy World Eaters color scheme, but they don't use it anymore, so it's fine.

What do you think of the result?

I just picked up a "Combat patrol" box as a fun "calm down" activity after work and I really like it , I have an intention to play now and Id like to continue with the black templars , I only got a crash course in playing 40K so I am not sure how this list stacks up. When to advance a unit and when to hold it back and what purpose each of your units have on the field. You mostly learn that by doing, watching other players beat you and thinking about what they did and why .

It's a very good box for any chaos space marines army, except maybe emperor's children, as i have never seen them in real life, so i can't evaluate how they're compared to other chaos marines.

My CSM army is build out of HH models. My next plan is to build DG out of it. TS also would work perfectly.

Of course, you need to do extra kitbashing and you need alternative source of bits. Good sources are kill team box of legionaries or a box of plague marines. In your case, the perfect source for kitbashing is - guess what - box of rubrics. But also 3d printing of course.

And yes, rubric flamers are great.

Another problem is what to do with the dreadnaught? If i'd play TS, i tried to kitbash it as a Mutalith Beast, but to it as a diorama (sorcerers are standing behind the dreadnaught, doing some esoterics stuff, transfering energies to dreadnaught who itself is a magical construct now).

I don't have better ideas. Maybe just sell it on ebay, saving money.

And the last, but not the least: HH marines are very easy to build, it saves a lot of time and they are a perfect material for kitbashing. They're my favorite miniatures in entire warhammer range.
