I’m thinking about MtG more because of the new Duskmourn jump. And I feel like it’s a trap because the more I think about MtG, the more stupid everyone and everything in it is. Like look at Thunder Junction. It is apparently a trade hub with no resources or geographical advantage, and yet despite being some shitty desert it’s a vital junction to a bunch of places just because. Why isn’t that Ravnica, the new centre of the multiverse? Just because Omenpaths lead there more often? Why? Is it literally just Niv-Mizzet propaganda?

And speaking of Omenpaths, as a replacement to the Planeswalker spark they are really, really shit. Supposedly they just open and close at random (unless you’re a bullshit mage who can see the order inherent in chaos) except when they don’t, and for NO REASON they presumably all have little stopovers at Thunder Junction instead of leading directly to another plane? Also why the FUCK is the Aetherspark considered a vanity prize instead of a goddamn superweapon par excellence? Has everyone just forgotten the raw power of a Planeswalker even once diminished to NuWalker levels, and how they were all used as fuel for the Elderspell? Do people just not address the risk of Omenpaths closing and thus stranded in some horrible interdimensional space? The entire setting has been hit by multiple apocalyptic events recently and this random group is just waving around the basic means to reignite one like a fucking Cartier diamond. What is wrong with these people? Why did the goblin turn on the stove?

The best thing I can say about MtG as a setting is that it’s very easy to feel intelligent in it when everyone constantly acts pants on head retarded.

>what does she do
Mostly run at people for hand-to-hand combat, though some are capable of creating an energy bubble that slows down anything passing through it in order to support other Invem (though this is a concentration ability).
>what is her attitude
They have a chipper and clingy demeanor, but, like most Invem lifeforms, they only have animalistic intelligence.
If offered as a companion, it'd be an unusually intelligent specimen, and it'd have... interesting implications for the setting, since they're created by a series of events that Jumper is capable of preventing.
Also, she's technically a nugget, since the slime-arms are disconnected from the main body and the legs are cybernetic

It doesn't. Nobody even knows what it does, this is straight up said there. They don't know if it'll just fling you into the Blind Eternities and kill you, it might flay the flesh off your bones like the Planar Bridge did, it might allow you to planeswalk exactly once with no return ticket then clatter to the ground, and they're not exactly eager to test it because it might be lost forever if they do so. It's a huge unknown that they vaguely think will allow you to planeswalk and not how.

I mean, fair enough but it would be really underwhelming if it ultimately just boiled down to being a really fancy lava lamp. And I still think it’s really irresponsible for them to just auction it off as a curio with zero regard for what happens if it either does actually work as advertised, or blows up in someone’s face harder than the Golgothian Sylex.

If it actually does work as advertised, whoever got it is a new planeswalker. Sure, they might be a danger, but not inerently- at most, they get a reusable get out of jail free card. Planeswalkers aren't inerently important or capable- hell, look at Lukka.
If it blows up, I guess the official stance is "not our problem lmao" given it's in Amonkhet's hands now.

Before it made you able to reform your body with a thought, gave you immense magical power and made your mind separate from your body. You could still be taken down by ambushes, being tricked into wasting energy or someone stabbing you in the exact place in your brain that would have led you to muster the thought to escape, but it was a pretty sweet deal that made you equal to a top tier archmage at minimum.

I suppose it’s my fault for assuming the ability to kill two (2) Eldrazi with the right leylines and magic system is supposed to be a big deal. It is sobering to have to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe the Jacetice League really are the cream of the crop for the more recent era’s batch of Planeswalkers.

That's on Nissa being stupidly powerful, mostly. Most other planeswalkers aren't nearly as impressive- Davriel Cane's literally having to scavenge for scraps of magic to do anything without his magic sugar daddy, Domri gets neg diffed by one (1) Eternal, etc, etc.

Although I would also add that Serra is definitely a runner-up. Bitch literally ran out on her plane despite being able to create archangels who could beat up other Oldwalkers, then committed suicide by cop because of a broken heart.

I would argue that Nissa isn’t stupidly powerful relative to the rest of the Jacetice League-just that her magic was really, really well suited for the plane they happened to be in while literally fighting 2 goddamn plane-eaters. I would also argue Davriel is as powerful as any of the Jacetice League but in different, often less direct ways. It’s just that he is utterly unmotivated to maximise his copy powers’ potential.

...Dumb thought but given cultivation often raises someones attributes all around and makes them better. This could lead to a resistance to poisons. Though it got me thinking a little bit. Do you think cultivators can still get drunk?
Anonymous No.96463957 >>96464070
>>96463889
They definitely can since drunken master is a pretty common archetype that carries over from wuxia and lower end martial arts works. The real question is whether they're drinking normal booze or they have to make equally ridiculous elixir-worthy moonshine in order to keep up with their body's improved constitution. And even that's questionable since poison seems to be one of the few things that can consistently harm cultivators so long as it's generated/synthesized by someone in roughly the same realm of power even if still notably less powerful otherwise.
Anonymous No.96463987
>>96463085
Isn't that a whole cycle of the Gatewatch eating absolute shit? Come on, they were up against Nicol Bolas, who's still Oldwalker tier *as a Newwalker* and who used to be so vast a plane needed a confluence of leylines to even support his existance. It's not jobbing to get smashed by someone established previously to be strong, jobbing is like if Nicol lost to Elesh Norn to show how much of a big deal the Phyrexians are.
Anonymous No.96464070
>>96463957
Hmm alright I can work with that. I think I'll roll with cultivators needing some alcohol roughly corresponding to there stage of cultivation if they want to get drunk then. Anything lesser and it doesn't do anything. Anything more and it might just kill them.

Might be fun to have Jumper pick up brewing a bit as a hobby.

Well, with that setup you do run into physical limitations. The alchemical process from MoM spits out mana in crystal form, and while I imagine you can simply absorb the crystals to fill your mana pool that pool's size doesn't change. Moreover it's one mana point per crystal so you'll quickly hit a limit on how much you can carry. You'd be better off just making or buying Diablo mana potions.

So I've begun replaying Breath of the wild for potential inspiration for the journey. And I'm experiencing the small joy a bit of realizing I can just write whatever that can spring in my imagination with some work. So have a mini scene.

"So how does that look to you?" The rambling voice of the shopkeeper asks.
"Well...it seems fines to me. I'm not really a fashion guru though."
Venti looks in the mirror. Raising a arm out from the new cloak he was considering. He was long overdue for getting new clothes that actually fit him. Most of his old ones were thread bare things now from use with the ends cut to fit him, and Midna had insisted he get new clothes while they were preparing for their journey.
"Is this too nice to wear on the road?" He wonders out loud looking at the clothes he was considering.

"No no! Of course not, I wouldn't be selling it if it was. This isn't some nobles shop dear."
The Seamstress tuts shaking her head. "
It should be just fine but even if it does look nice that's a bonus. You have to look your best if you want to apply for the sect after all." The shopkeeper says from behind the counter.
"What?" Venti asks blinking.
"You're a traveler, right? The tailor asks looking at them oddly.
"The only reason folk pass through our little town most of the time is on the way to try and join the sect, three bless them."

"Oh!" The bard nods as he realizes the assumption. He opened his mouth to correct her but decided against it. It was simpler this way, no need to make a fuss.

"Uh yeah." He nods rolling with it.
"I thought so." The woman nods, grinning.
"Well the clothes suit you well. I'm sure you're make a fine young master if you manage to get in. Make your clan proud. My little Jin tried last year. Poor boy didn't make it far though."
"Oh please don't call me that." Venti mumbles embarrassed as he approaches the counter. Digging into his pockets for his wallet.
"I'm sorry to hear your son wasn't accepted though. Any idea why? And how much for all this?" He asks trying to recall if he met a Jin among the hopefuls last year. He'd been admittedly pretty engrossed with his own training and Renalis then.

"Oh, I don't know why." The shopkeeper sighs "He doesn't like to talk about it. He was pretty upset by it to."
"Hmm..." Venti hums. "Well maybe I'll ask about him if I get up there? Maybe I could help somehow? It's a shame he's upset if it's cultivations not for everyone. How much do I owe you for the clothes?"

"I don't think there's much you can do traveler but sure, but I appreciate the thought. It'll be 500 rupees for all the clothes you've picked out."
Venti winces, that was a pretty penny alright. He could afford it thankfully due to savings but danm..
"Alright..."
He turns his wallet over and lets out a cascade of red rupees fall out. Stopping at exactly 500 worth of them. Thankfully he enchanted the bag a few years ago for a joke of paying exactly in green rupees for a purchase and the magic of making sure only the exact amount wanted to fall out still stuck to it.

"Here you go Ma'am. I'll make sure to ask about your Jin to" He says pushing the pile of gems towards her.
He reaches down and picks up the bag holding the rest of his chosen clothes, giving her a smile before he's gone. Leaving a surprised shopkeeper counting out her money.

Nope! He's wearing basically some borrowed "Mortal" clothes for the trip.

Yeah, the cultivation marks haven't really appeared fully on him outwardly beyond just appearing Hylian so far. And no ones gonna be able to tell he was originally human at this point.
He's actually gonna help her son get into the sect after talking with them and checking back up the mountain before he leaves. (If he can pass the sniff test from venti at least.) A little side quest offscreen before the journey.

Yeah, Its not insanely malevolent but its still a bit of a dick move. I think its a good character moment though potentially. helping even if a mild slight was done to you.

Thinking about a scene a bit where the mindscape/dreamscape is starting to properly get formed and how much that alone could change ones perception of themselves. Or just how they see sleeping in general. Let alone soul effigy manifestation where your soul enters your mind. I imagine that must feel on a spiritual level sort of odd. For context, I'm wondering what Adyseach might request in exchange for temporary companionship and ten years worth of knowledge from him, if I don't want to actually offer him a ticket off of Duskmourn.
Maybe 200cp's worth of jumper power is enough to pay off the whole debt, since that's what it costs to take him as a companion by default. To something planebound like Adyseach, 200cp's worth of power might be an equivalent exchange in its own right.

True. I just like thinking on the details a bit. Given constructing mental defenses is important before moving onto a certain step after the scapes emerged fully. I imagine midna helping with that a little bit of probing testing his mental defenses.
...Though I'm sort of imagining a dreamscape version of a tower defense game or plants vs zombies.

It’s a big part of why Hyrule is able to grow. The Triune Scriptures may be slower to cultivate, but average cultivators in Hyrule can grow much more easily, so while Hyrule doesn’t have more geniuses they do have unusually strong average cultivators.

I was thinking of the idea that when you reach the second realm you could start to affect the world with your will, so if you allowed it she might be able to just will herself in.

Of course finding him was another matter, but when they got lucky they found him raiding an Orochi warehouse to kill some filth and activated a cute blue-haired gynoid he found in a box. They really, really didn't like what happened after that.

Honestly, I would've rather started with Fate/Stay Night so I could pick up Rin Tohsaka. But I'm frankly not confident that I could deal with all of the conceptual bullshit from Hercules, Cu, and Gilgamesh on my first Jump. My next pick would've been Tsukihime for Akiha. But I didn't wanna deal with all of the Dead Apostles and their bullshit immortality on my first run. So I decided to compromise and go for my third favorite tsundere in the Nasuverse: Aoko.
The build I went with is prioritizing survivability above all. Yumina gives me a wolverine tier healing factor that guarantees I'll eventually recover from any physical wound I suffer.
Lore Defenses makes me outright immune to most conventional attacks. The caveat of course being now that I have a lore weakness, which is fine. I'm not gonna try to be a hero.
Reenactment of Mystery and Trump Card give me enough strength to defend myself from most threats in the setting as long as I don't try and pick a fight with any of the top tiers in magus society.
Now back to Aoko. I'm confident that I can convince her to join me. The drawback "Baka" basically guarantees that I'll be in a non sexual BSDM relationship with her for my entire stay in the jump. That gives me 10 years to convince her to join me on a journey across the millions of multiverses. That'll easily woo her to be my companion. Especially since Porcelain Vampire guarantees that I'll look drop dead gorgeous to her.

I won. Trojan Reinforce gives me a harem of 12 Amazonian women who are madly in love with me and insanely loyal. All 12 of them count as one companion. When imported, the powers of perks are divided amongst them by a ration 1/12 of the original perks power. They also share 10% of my power.

You literally can't beat this. I don't think there's a better option to take if you're limited to 1 companion slot.

It's gonna be comfy as fuck too. I get to explore 19th century Europe with twelve beautiful women who know nothing about civilization outside of what they've been taught on their Amazonian island. I.E. nothing. So I expect there'd be a lot of hijinks as I try and teach them how to fit into modern day society.

As an added bonus, I'm nigh invincible between Godhand and Achilles's invincibility. I could've gone for the Lion Pelt that makes you immune to man made weapons too, but I didn't wanna take another drawback and risk a chainfail or a miserable experience.

The Jump offers more than enough to deal with that. You mostly want high magecraft, mana reserves and Black Grail. That way you can pretty much deal with everything quite easily. Even Gilgamesh would be very hard pressed if you shallow the other Servants and also interface with the Grail.

So have a bit of a scene I wrote while I'm waiting to be able to buy silk song. Nothing that important. Mostly just venti messing around and a glimpse at development.

The night sky shimmered overhead, The moon was bright and large, like a nightlight in the sky against the perpetual purple that seemed to hang over the endless sea.

Venti sighs looking up at it. The steady roar of traffic behind him ever going. He stares for a few minutes before deciding that was enough staring. Might as well take a look around the island. See what needed to be done.

He turns stepping off the beach. Approaching the highway, a endless stream of cars barreling down it
A step onto the air, and then another. The cultivator walks casually up the air over the stream of eternal traffic. Looking towards the mountain on the islands center.

The sect rose at a plateau near the top. A small temple like thing. Perhaps it could use a few more pillars made for it. Oh but... he did spend most of last night furnishing its inner hall. Something else could use his attention for now. Maybe the harbor? No he didn't remember that much at all, And making something wholesale would be a little bothersome for now. Maybe Ordin temple? Though the sect was already in pretty much the only place it'd fit. Perhaps cats? Venti always liked cats, his island deserved some cats. He decided to go with cats for now in lieu of other good options.

The bard drifts absent mindedly to one of the houses on the inner side of the highway and steps through the front door. A good enough place as any for a cat house.

A few hours later. Venti smiles down at the pack of cats and one particularly house cat looking lion he was petting.
"Aww you're a good kitty." The cultivator grins rubbing the large cat's head. The beast purring contently
"You take care of your siblings okay?"
He sighs. Amused even if he was functionally talking to himself.
He adjusts his cloak, stepping out of the house. Well, that was most of the night spent on admittedly fairly minor things. but he'd made most of the core stuff already over the last few months.

It was going to need a lot more work. But he was happy with this place.
It sort of reminded him of home. From what he remembered of it at this point at least. He pauses and looks down. - Oh! that spot on a intersection looked a bit like how he remembered the street, a Mcdonalds in his hometown growing up. That could be a good next project.

The cultivator floats down to begin. Already beginning to plot out the shape for the building, But a familiar voice cuts through all of reality,as it begins to dissolve into something entirely different.
"Wake up! I made breakfast!"
He blinks, blearily orienting himself as he looks around the airy, wooden floored and walled room bedroom, light streaming through the window. to see his sister in the doorway. She had indeed made breakfast. Well dreamscape creating would have to wait until another night to continue.

Mmhm. I wanted to see how realistic or confusing a bit trying to play off the dream as reality for the scene but he doesn't have the development to do that yet.
The dreamscape can be a fun. Even if He'd never call it a toy. It's sort of the ultimate creative tool in a way.

>Or at least, the place where he came from.
Exactly. It's basically a amalgamation of his hometown and his new life in Hyrule. Though as time goes on hyrules obviously gonna dominate more and more elements of the dreamscape. I do have the mental image of one of his attacks in the late second stage and third just to be opening a portal and out comes barreling a tiger or semi truck though.

Oh all sorts of things. Venti sort of getting exposed to things in the third realm he probably wouldn't of encountered for many many millennia for one. Things he probably can't really properly comprehend for a good while. Talks about what other worlds are like a bit. Things like that one event where venti stumbled upon the end and rebirth of a universe. Maybe a bit about what life was like back then when she first arrived eventually. After the friendship grew enough.
Maybe Ventis own thoughts on her. And why she does what she does from his perspective or what he thinks seeing her actions.
He ultimately does see them as her trying to help a world thats really to cruel and leave something better behind. The universe may be cold and uncaring but he thinks she took it upon herself to change that. or is still trying to change that.

Some of them just dont exist admittedly. They don't have the scriptures in them because the scriptures aren't as exceedingly rare as they are in the original setting. The four sword for example hasn't been created. But it has the potential to. I was considering having Jumper possibly making it honestly. Same with the mask of truth and Hylian shield. Though I imagine without the scripture in it. The shields a fairly standard treasure among warrior cultivators.

You did mention history before the second Hyrulian age is basically lost knowledge, so someone making the Mask of Truth could fix that little issue and present all of history to whoever feels curious. Makes sense that some history isn't widely known if the Mask of Truth doesn't exist to allow someone to just see it directly. Iirc the Dream Eye lets you interpret the past but it's from reading meanings and such rather than seeing it directly, so the Mask of Truth would definitely be pretty useful in that regard.

I took inspiration from Spice & Wolf, actually. You may have seen some works trying to depict an old fashioned way of speaking and it coming out poorly, or as TV Tropes puts it, Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe. As for Spice & Wolf, TV Tropes says it well.
>The translations try to make the dialog appropriate for the medieval-esque European setting by having the characters speak in modern but formal English with few or no contractions, while words/phrases that are rare in modern usage but still valid like "vexing" are used as well. This makes the dub dialog sound suitably old yet also avoids the problems caused when pseudo-old English is attempted.

>Well theres that and Demise might of been the thing to end the first Hylian age and destroy the first kingdom of hyrule for a few decades potentially.
That would certainly muddy the waters. Hylia, the Golden Goddesses, and any surviving cultivators would still be available to talk about what things were like, but as I said, unless you’re a real history buff it probably doesn’t matter to you.

Maybe. This is a plot element I'm still slowly ironing out but, I was thinking half the reason the clans doing all these horrible things and intrigue is because there a lot weaker then there Neighbours. And the Clan elder is terrified of the wolves closing in...while being equally as evil if not worse.
I was thinking venti would stumble cross something there so horrible or somethings done that basically enrages him to either join or start the invasion of the region. At that point, space warping would be trivial, and building the ship would be a major project backed at least your lands, to say nothing of interest from the rest of the Empire. The outside of the ship would be huge as it is, while the inside could well have hundreds of villages, dozens of towns and cities, its own capital, and a sect, all spread out in the usual way.

In fairness, that was probably more a trickster-archetype move than a "Fuck anything that moves"-archetype move. Primarily because of the way Gilgamesh frames it, as a betrayal of the lion and the horse, making the former weak enough for humans to kill and the latter docile enough for humans to tame. Given the Epic has Gilgamesh's rejection incorporate many other distortions of prior narratives, this suggests his claim of her sleeping with THE lion and THE horse is from a now-lost story where she, as the embodiment of urbanized civilization, sleeps with either the deity or collective spirit of those animals so as to make them useful or less threatening to humanity.

Yeah, the whole Epic kinda revolves around the question of whether its really better to live in a (urbanized and agrarian) society, or to exist as an autonomous individual in the wild. The end conclusion is pretty decisively in the "You loose some stuff to live with others, but what you get is worth it" school of thought, but it takes the time to wax poetic about all the masculine strength and autonomy living in a society requires you to give up.

On the surface the rejection of Ishtar by Gilgamesh is a repudiation of her (and I could go on for a long time about the text and subtext of that), but when you get down to it it's more about Gilgamesh refusing to accept that his fate is to someday die, and that he actually has obligations to his subjects. He wants the benefits of kingship without the costs, and he wants to forever live the ancient frat-bro life with Enkidu. Which, well, isn't how things work. Both Enkidu and less explicitly, but pretty clearly all the same, Gilgamesh learn to accept both the costs that come with living with others, and the benefits of leaving behind a legacy, but it takes till Enkidu's death and for Gilgamesh loosing the flower that would return to him his youth.

...also, we have ancient tablets from before 2000 BC lamenting the arrogance of the youth, how they refuse to listen to or respect their elders, how 'every man wants to write a book' and how surely the world will soon end with all the moral degeneracy in society. Humans really, really never change, we will be bitching about the same stuff 10,000 years in the future if we're still around, while simultaneously thinking that we're infinitely better than our ancestors even as we keep stepping on the same rakes.

[Innistrad redux]

The angel is going mad. She does not realise it. It does not occur to her that butchering the humans is anything but righteous. It is obviously the only thing that can resolve the anomalies plaguing the werewolves, the towns, the moon.

The angel cannot discern her madness because it was in her design to become more powerful as the humanity of her plane veered towards calamity, and now she is the danger. So when she sees me, an outsider, it is jarring for her to process the fact that she does NOT want to kill me. “Stranger, leave immediately” she commands, gore still dripping off her spear. “This is no longer a place of honour”

“This place was never a place of honor” I tell her. “Your creator, Sorin, never intended it as such”.

The angel blinks. “…what heresy is this?”. “The kind that rewrites religions, I’m afraid” I say. In a flash of white mana I show her a vision of genesis, of the megalomaniacal carelessness this world’s planeswalkers are prone to. This shocks the angel so much that she doesn’t even notice the Eldrazi corruption being seared out of her.

“I don’t say this a lot” I ask, after five minutes of the angel crumpled in a sobbing heap, “but do you want a hug?”

“…what?”

“A hug. Do you want a hug?” I repeat, kneeling down. “You have been diligent and selfless. You deserved a better creator”

“The entire faith I preside over is a cruel joke, I was created to farm the mortals I cherish like cattle, and now something worse than any demon bears down on my blame” she says blankly. “I should not have time for a hug, but…I think so, yes”

I hug her.

I also take this opportunity to tell her I am here on this plane hunting monsters like the one about to consume it, and monsters like her maker, and that I am always looking for more help in this endeavour. And thus, the angel Avacyn finds religion.

[Magic the Gathering: Duskmourne - House of Horror redux]

Avacyn watched the other four members of what she had decided to call the Pathwatch gathered at the Ghirapur Grand Prix with varying amounts of unease. She wouldn’t have let Aminatou be there if she hadn’t insisted fate decreed her presence, constantly fretting over the child’s wellbeing despite her apparently being the strongest Planeswalker of her generation Valgavoth, despite his penitence, still reeked of the fear and madness of the plane he had terrorised for millennia. His spawn and nightmarish whims drifted around him like a toxic miasma. The horror that had squirmed it’s way into my soul was quite plainly far worse than Valgavoth simply because having originated on a plane inhabited by demons, dread fae, dragons but no sentient beings with a moral framework more objectively just than that of Grixis before she had subsumed it I had decided she never needed any behavioural correction to begin with.

And the last member of the Pathwatch was literally 10 Bablovian squirrels in a trenchcoat and top hat collectively calling themselves Agent Deeznuts. Avacyn stared in fascinated helplessness at the complex systems of ropes, pulleys and gears that the squirrels within were frantically hauling on to make the automaton shamble around. Amanitou at least was avoiding eye contact with the thing and mouthing the words “just go with it” at her over and over again, but the demons were acting like it was the mysterious but hypercompetent professional it purported to be. Which meant to Avacyn that either she was being pranked with a very longwided bit…or that the squirrels had somehow fooled the demons as seamlessly as it had fooled the ticket greeter, several Ghirapur dignitaries and one of their targets. She took a deep breath.

“We agreed” she said, “the population deserves to know the truth”

“YOU agreed” corrected Shrylariatha, “while the rest of us humoured you”

“You forget your place, monster” said Avacyn harshly. “If you recall, Anon put me in charge of this team. You will not take another step on this plane without my authorisation. I will not see us become as, as fundamentally MISGUIDED as the Gatewatch while trying to clean up their messes”

“You hold tactical command, set our objectives and your vote is worth any three of ours” acknowledged Shrylariatha, “but the rest of us have wide discretion on HOW those orders are carried out, and can simply abstain from the team if we deem the current objective a liability. Which I will if you give Jace adequate warning to LEAVE the plane before he can be, heh, reasoned with”

“Our mission begins with a civic duty to the civilisations of the multiverse! We are the relief from anarchy and depredation, not it’s instigators!”. The monster sighed, her tongue flickering like a serpent. “We are not PREDATING on anything. I am simply telling you that, as the upstart can tell you, fate errs closest to a successful outcome if we simply incapacitate Jace or grab him and leave”

“She’s right, Avacyn” said Aminatou sadly, making Avacyn round on her with hurtful disappointment. “I can pull the strings of fate, but they grow more and more taut the more attention turns to Jace”

“If I could make a suggestion, the entire point of a team is to share burdens” said Valgavoth earnestly even in the face of Avacyn literally burning with reflexive hostility. “There is a middle ground between mobilising the government and a simple smash and grab. Some of us could provide evidence to the authorities while others deal with this insignificant Beleren mortal, who is clearly no match for any of us. And we can even achieve some other objectives along the way! I have a, erm, man named Winter posted here. We will spin a cocoon of intrigue, and choke the very mana from him with it!” he cackled, then added “in a civilised way, for the greater good”

3/5
Anonymous No.96478231 >>96478235

Avacyn exhaled. “Very well”. Accepting the demon had a point was a bitter pill to swallow. Doing nothing would be worse. “Agent…Deeznuts, is your network in place?”

“Kekekeke yes kekeke” chattered the alleged agent.

“Then you will deliver the news. Amanitou, secure the Aetherspark-and Valgavoth, you will return the young Fomori to Thunder Junction. Shrylariatha. Secure the planar borders. Let neither of them summon anything in, understood? I alone will be sufficient to neutralise them”

“But of course”

“Good. For the Amiable Oikumene, and a secure multiverse”

“For the Amiable Okumene, and a secure multiverse” the others echoed, some sarcastically.

And thus, the plan by and large went off without a hitch. Winter was very surprised to learn that the demon that had blackmailed him suddenly was providing both apologies, goodwill blessings for his success, and a free ride home for the little creature that had been conscripted into the race with him-while the rulers of Ghirapur were very surprised to have aristocratic squirrels come up through the woodwork and give them confidential information about interplanar espionage. While this was all going on, Winter was enjoying Pocoloco-like luck at the expense of every other racer. He easily won the race.

“Jace Beleren” said Avacyn, plummeting from on high and landing like a Marvel superhero, “I would have words with you”

“Oh, hell. Is this about something I did while compleated?” asked the mind mage, frantically trying to buy time. “No, Jace. It is about what you intend to do in the near future”

“Jace! If we can’t summon reinforcements, we have to banish the archangel immediately!” warned Vraska. Fighting her own first response, Avacyn slowly raised one hand, spear in the ground. “I know what you haven’t told your companions. Not even the one here. You are NOT prepared to fix the multiverse” she warned him.

4/5
Anonymous No.96478235

Jace froze. “What the hell’s she talking about?” demanded Vraska. “You said that-“ “I don’t know, it’s possible she’s misguided” said Jace slowly, hand to his temple it what seemed to be a very obvious mind mage focus gesture, “or misinformed. This doesn’t have to end in violence”

“It doesn’t” agreed Avacyn, “and that is precisely why you must listen to me. The power of the Meditation Realm is far beyond your grasp”

“You’re assuming a lot”

“I’ve SEEN it, Jace. Come to the Oikumene. As dire as my…grievances, with your kind, I know that you at least are trying to be a good man. To make right the multiverse’s wrongs. But there is a right way and a wrong way to do this”

“Then why don’t you hear my side of the story? Or, or if the Oikumene really does possess such power, lend me it! Together we can heal the multiverse. Or do you really think it just to simply leave it like this?”

Avacyn hesitated. In that moment a crushing blast of psychic energy struck her mind. She grit her teeth and focused through it. “I think that even if your plan worked, it is not right to cut off entire events-risk entire LIVES being unborn-in service of a past you never lived through. I think that if this plan really matters that much Jace, you need to discuss it in a public forum. Yours is not the only pain in the multiverse”

Suddenly she swung her spear through Jace and Vraska’s flickering images. “And I think that is a very convincing illusion”

“I’m sorry. We left the plane half a minute ago. This HAS to be done” echoed Jace’s voice from elsewhere. “As does this” said Avacyn, disappointed. “I don’t have to touch your flesh to work my magic on you, Beleren. By my wrath, you shall be as shining beacons to your foes and felons to your allies. The weight of my gaze will exhaust you, and find you wherever you go. When we next meet, I hope you’ll reconsider”

That... sort of reminds me of a colony/Generational ship almost. I like that. If your going to be in space for decades to centuries, your want people to be able to live there lives normally.

So, I just updated the Make The Exorcist fall in Love jump, as well as the Avesta of Black and White jump. I was thinking of doing these small updates whenver I finished one of my WIPs during this summer, but it is already over and I haven't finished anything yet. So I decided to just do them now:

>Make The Exorcist Fall In Love
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zDqaq5jWDxmQgqpc1Qhm7Vh2_G7A9mH6/view
>Remove the background restriction for the 800/1000 CP perks
>Added Michael's Sword Replica and Infernal Choir items
>Added Prophecy drawback
>Reworded some parts of perks here and there
>Added a couple notes regarding how to replicate Lucifer and the varying strengths of the Demon Lords

>Avesta of Black and White
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KhrDI4NTi38U-F4f1kgoH6wNPd9AnlGb/view
>Lowered the prices of Star Spirit since most of 600 CP perks offer advantages above the average Star Spirits, and the perks on 800 CP will treat star spirits as mostly fodder
>Split Will of the King into two price tiers for just an untapped potential and partial emanation like that done by Sirius and Khvarenah, since as we seen over the series, people can go around without ever tapping into that potential or even getting into an incomplete emanation, let alone achieving godhood and the recent revelation of Dies Entelechia that everyone during that era has the potential for godhood
>Added some notes here and there with somethings that on a reread I may have missed or changed my understanding how they work
>Added some interactions between some of the perks and the capstone items that seemed thematically appropiate
>Added a note on taking the Throne outside of the scenario

He is the adoptive father. Sahasrara's children are born from a century or so of constant rape. All of her children have inhereted a condition where they feel constant disgust and the feeling of insects crawling all around them, which is what Hajun feels all the time and which pushes him to eradicate anything he can sense to calm that feeling.
Also, another thing about the Avataras they are connecting to previous eras via Sahasrara's connection to the Throne, and they are manifesting powers from previous eras. The youngest of the sisters has Belial's flames from Paralost (which are the same as Sirius' flames), which

Companion, I will pick Desiree because if I have to have a companion, a genie waifu sounds fun. How did I get her, I found her at a swap meet from an old gypsy and I do not trust free djinn that can grant wishes for everyone. So, while I might support free will, I also cannot have her free to cause trouble for me. So wish for her to be my genie waifu and stop fucking with people. I don't mind some mild wish granting, but going out of your way to be an asshole about it is where I draw the line. Neither of us might like this new marriage outcome, but if someone doesn't slap a magical marriage restrictions on her then she is just too much trouble to be allowed freedom.

Real talk that's just mono Red doing mono Red things... which perhaps highlights the bigger issue that classic Red is kind of anathema to Phyrexia's general ethos if you're playing it that straight. Not to say they couldn't have found an angle for him to work from since he was ironically the start of Red's more usable artifact support into proper archetypes like vehicles in Kaladesh and stuff from further peeks into New Phyrexia like the Modern sets slowly playing catchup to whatever created Brudiclad, but that it's a gimmick that the old loreheads were experimenting with at best and kneecapping to prop up Norn at worst since her whole arc is lowkey a microcosm of the bullshit that's been going on IRL such that it's unfortunately still kinda relevant.

Since this thread is basically lore central since jumps have little to nothing to do with game mechanics or crunch gameplay, the games that actually have lore and a story to interact with have more to talk about than the game which is mostly fanservice.

Circlet of enlightenment (Relic Tier - head slot): This simple thin band of coper when worn applies a moderate boost to the wearers wisdom. It also provides a significant boost to resistance to mental attacks.
Necklace of the steadfast (Relic Tier - neck Slot): This simple set of prayer beads on a leather cord may not appear as much however it significantly reduces the wearers need for food, water and rest. It moderately enhances their damage reduction.
Robe of the Resilience; (Relic Tier - Body Slot): This simple well worn yet rugged hooded robe boasts an impressive defense. It provides protection as heavy armor and provides minor resistance to all 4 types of basic elemental attacks
Handwraps of the wind and thunder (Relic Tier - Hand Slot): These simple handwraps may not appear to be much however they have several useful effects. First the protect the wearer from damage based on what they are hitting. Second they moderately increase unarmed damage for the wearer and increase their hand speed and rate of attack with unarmed attacks.

First those who are unarmed or using martial artist weapons find their elusiveness in battle increased by a degree based upon their wisdom.. It mildly enhances their strength and provides them with a moderate increase to unarmed damage.
Anklets of avoidance (Relic Tier - Leg slot): These simple golden anklets provide a simple but useful ability. Once per day, they allow the wearer to teleport 10 feet away so long as they are able to see the target location and it is unoccupied. This is a swift action and may be used to avoid an attack.
Sandals of the traveler (Relic Tier - Foot slot): These simple wooden sandals allow the wearer to move at triple their usual rate of movement. Further they allow them to move unhindered no matter the terrain they are moving through and protect them from environmental damage of moving through those terrain.
Ironwood Staff (Relic Tier - Weapon slot) this simple wooden quarter staff appears rather ordinary. However it is virtually unbreakable being may times stronger than steel. Further it does moderately increased damage. Lastly it partially ignores damage reduction from armor made of non-natural material such as metal.
Far Flung Sling (Legacy Tier - Weapon slot): This simple sling allows the user to fling stones and double the range they would otherwise be able to do. It also provides a minor increase to damage. Stones flung from it are considered magical for bypassing damage reduction.

Not even counting all the sufficiently competent versions of God.

It’s my fault Cyrus ultimately decided to indefinitely put off his.

>>96482355 is leaving out a lot of the consequences and context for Jace’s deeds. For starters, he is asserting he knows more about the Meditation Realm than the Elder Dragon oldwalker who beat his ass in a mind-to-mind battle (Bolas) who had been using the place as his fucking lair, or Ugin who MERGED with the damn thing. For another, in canon Jace’s attempt to do this utterly failed. He totally lost control of the magical energy and it backfired. It resulted in the Meditation Realm detonating violently, Bolas escaping, and Jace seemingly annihilated (read: Set up for some sort of triumphant return later in the storyline). There is, in fact, no real evidence the whole thing wasn’t JACE trauma-dumping about recent experiences like being compleated or the near-success of the Elderspell rather than a coherent understanding of the Meditation Realm.

There is a vast gulf between “plan I like the idea of but is self-demonstrably does not work” and “plan I view as actively worth supporting”.

Moreover, since Generic will probably never specify the limits of the custom planes in Urza’s Block I happen to own what is basically the Meditation Realm but white mana-coded as well as several other white mana realms held by worshipful devotees that do things like be realm-sized supercomputers/time machines or generate deific angels to manage them. So theoretically, I could in fact do my own Remake The MtG Multiverse plan anytime I like. But unlike Jace, I prefer to run the calculations a few more times before being certain it’s worth the effort.

Besides, I already solved MtG by perfecting the Phyrexian procedures/cutting that idiot Elesh Norn out of the whole thing and ensuring Jin’s ideas got more traction. One of the Praetors is responsible for the Reality Chip, the thing that even Yawgmoth couldn’t accomplish, and one is mainly in charge because she keeps throwing woman moments and beating up the others.

Saddening, actually. I am very bitter that Bant, the most White of the planes, lost with comical ease when faced with real warfare conditions. I have already won a White Mana campaign using the Phyrexian strategy so I am in less of a rush to conquer all timelines and possibilities now that if I want, I can simply affirm my previous victory across all of time and space. Now that I am exploring a different possibility/throwing Avacyn a bone because she was very sad about the Phyrexian solution, I am mostly just trying out different comfy chairs in my cluster of planes while passing laws, monitoring machinery and cultivating the sliver-lotus colonies. Without the all-consuming tide of Colorless-White, a White-Blue-Green block will probably be necessary for a White-dominant victory.

Theoretically Exalts are supposed to find doing things in their themes much more intuitive than doing things outside of them, for example you don’t see many Dragonblooded who can cast necromancy. In practice, Solars’ theme of “me da bess”, Infernals’ theme of “whatever lives rent free in a Yozi’s head enough, and eventually my own core tenets” and Abyssals’ theme of “being a living weapon of Oblivion/the Neverborn” have been pretty flexible for most endeavours. Really the themes seem to be the flexible but ever-present limit, since for example-Abyssals can’t make Holy Charms. They can ACCESS Solar Charms with that one redemptive Charm. But they cannot make Charms that evoke darkness and blood and cold and Oblivion that are as inherently Holy as a Solar’s native charmset. Just as Solars, for all their power, are worse at necromancy than Abyssals.

Plenty. Here's a short list of shit an Exalt can't do:
>Create a "mana potion" that quickly restores Essence when drunk.
>Deal large (ie wall breaking) amounts of damage without significant energy costs.
>Obtain a natural Dexterity score of 16 or higher.
>Become strong enough to wield a giant anime sword without first enchanting it to be easier to lift and swing.
>Detect a lurking assassin purely by feeling their "killing intent."
>Control someone's mind without the victim being able to resist with a minor exertion of willpower.
>Stop time.
>Create full powered hive minds of yourself.
>Instant speed permanent creation of finished products like a litrpg dungeon core.

Plus, developing a new Charm is a massively intensive endeavor, to the point that 4000 year old Exalts only knew a few hundred each. So whatever problem you're facing will be waiting a long time while you make a new Charm to deal with it.

That’s how some of Adorjan’s Charms (which Infernals have access to) are fluffed as, actually.

>without significant energy costs
Malfeas’ basic Green Sun Nimbus Flare has an upgrade Charm, Wrath-Stoked Bonfire Soul, which automatically upgrades it to do Agg damage to all targets at E6+ (which with the Ascendancy Mantle of Malfeas is available at E5)

At best, you can detect killing intent in the split second before an attack. There's no scanning for it in a way that totally voids Stealth as a concept no matter how good you are at hiding. Same way that Exalted doesn't have a Detect Magic that's good enough to reveal invisible assassins by detecting the invisibility spell they're under.
>SWLIHN’s Charms.
Kills someone and replaces them with a clone, which isn't mind control. Especially since the clone can later be talked into doing something different than designed.
>Malfeas’ basic Green Sun Nimbus Flare has an upgrade Charm, Wrath-Stoked Bonfire Soul, which automatically upgrades it to do Agg damage to all targets at E6+
Which is A) not "significant damage" for all that it cuts through mundane defenses and B) still requires motes to be spent to activate the base Charm.
Anonymous No.96485714

I can think of a few solutions to some of the others but for the "Killing Intent" one there are charms that give you several seconds heads up before an attack even happens.
>Finally, her magical sight grants a preternatural awareness of any threat from any direction, perceived as a magical flash from the direction of any coming threat moments before it materializes. This flash normally gives the character a number of ticks worth of notice equal to her Essence before any threat, but it does not provide any other information about the nature of the hazard, other than direction.

Also if it needs to be said, what the Exalted are capable of in lore and what the Exalted are capable of mechanically have always been more at odds than what many anons, including myself, were led to believe upon being introduced to Exalted. Mechanically for example there are no rules for how to fully actualise something like the Salinian Working and yet somehow, Exalts apparently did experiment with reformating reality during the First Age using Charms, artifacts or spells that have not been fully statted out.
