That one is a retarded waste of money. It works by melting salt inside the central unit and then using the heat from that to generate energy when the sun is down. Cost billions of dollars and the government paid for a huge chunk of it. They build the thing and it fucking leaks, so it doesn't work and gets shut down for repairs. Company goes under, plant gets bought out and properly fixed, but it's not profitable. So they just renegotiate the rates they'd be selling electricity. That's how it "works" now, the overpriced fancy bullshit just passes the costs onto the customers. Fuck it, pay more for bullshit science project electricity that was never going to help anything.

eh, I don't agree with this. and you're forgetting things like wind energy among others. always funny seeing people seethe at solar energy. it's like the idea of taking a massive exploding star's energy and converting it to electricity on a large scale is some sort of pipe dream in their eyes. it's improving all the time however. this mostly just seems to boil down to " these people on this side of the political spectrum like it, so I don't, and I'll throw any argument against it." I've seen bills proposed by democrats in congress to help injured veterans shot down by republicans, those same people who cannot shut up about "honoring muh vets". everyone does it really. it's just that "conservatives" seem to do it a lot more.

Wind energy is just too fucking limited for what it provides. They are physically getting too big to work properly, and anything smaller means its this ultra expensive low energy production that has a massive land footprint. They're not competitive, they exist and "prosper" with the government footing part of the bill for both start up fees and maintenance. There's not enough wind to harness for our needs, it will always be this clusterfuck sideshow that never really makes or breaks anything. There are certainly cases where small locations in certain areas can use wind power privately to great effect, but it's not a solution for all of us. You can find retarded conservatives complaining about stupid shit like how they burying the used blades or birds getting hit by them, but just because they're retarded doesn't mean widespread wind isn't retarded too.

building dams to tame rivers is inherently manly and a great feat of engineering, its an act of creation and subjugating nature. it produces a lot of energy and civilizes the area you are in with reservoirs, irrigation for agriculture and water supply for the population,

wind in the other hand is peak cuck technology, siphoning scraps with an ugly windmill, begging nature for a piece of the pie. and solar gets made in china, can't rely on chink generosity, they will try to fuck us over someday soon
